Audioslave – Exploder Lyrics 19 years ago
You're overcomplicating this. He's basically saying people have a narrow way of thinking.

if you're free you'll never see the walls
if you're head is clear you'll never freefall
if you're out right you never fear the wrong
if you're head is high you never fear at all

Get it? It's a philisophical song. If you're raised one way, odds are you won't be able to grasp the entire picture(Most Westerners don't understand Arab Countries and vice-versa). "If you're free, you'll never see the walls" etc.

Lol, i'm gussing the opening verse about the guy who's chained up and flowers is getting married-most likely unaware of the dramatic change his life is about to undergo.

"I could understand"
Chris finally figures things out, and the rest of the song unfolds

The lyric about the girl who kills herself is about a girl who suffered from depression like her father and killed herself because she couldn't handle living life.

The kid who heard voices went insane and killed his mother. "heard voices no one understood" Most likely meaning he had a warped image of reality.

Finally the last verse

there was a man who had a face
it looked alot like me
i saw him in the mirror and i fought him in the street
then when he turned away i shot him in the head
then i came to realize i had killed myself

He's saying we don't even realize what we're doing half the time. Which would of course be the point to this entire song.

Moral of the Song: Things are never what they appear to be, don't make rash decisions based on things you probably don't understand.

Disturbed – Believe Lyrics 19 years ago
lol, i doubt anyone's even going to read this far into the post but i just want to clarify a few things. 1) The Pentagon was not started by wiccans, and it wasn't started by Satan. How do I know this? Because A)Wiccans haven't been around very long-in fact the religion isn't even 100years old yet. The pentagon only became associated with Satan back in the days when Pagans and Christians where constantly at arms. The Pentagon is a Pagan symbol-obviously they lost and became associated with evil-hence, pentagon=devil now. As for the song, it's clearly stating that belief alone isn't enough to get you into heaven which is in fact a direct reference to Catholicism. According to the catholic faith(which I am by the way) so long as you believe in God he will forgive any sin so long as you're actually sorry for commiting the sin in the first place. I suppose the song is in reference to people who aren't really sorry and continue to do evil deeds anyway. Anyway-that's my take. SPin it anyway you like.

Deftones – Root Lyrics 19 years ago
Drshock nailed it on the head. It's not about sex, it's a song on faith. "To be judged by one or licked by three
And your holes enclose" This is refering to the holy trinity(God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) which are all considered one under the Catholic faith. "Wounds Enclosed" is refering to Jesus' wounds from being placed upon the cross. Also the constant reference to being poor inside. Christ was known to sympothise and live amongst the poor. I'll admit it's a cryptic song, but it's obviously a song based on faith. The holy trinity itself is a mystery, which may be why they decided to make this song so difficult to understand.
