| Abney Park – The Secret Life of Dr. Calgori Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Somebody posted on another board: Dr. Calgori is a fictional character in the Steampunk world history of Abney Park. Like the real Nicoli Tesla his work to better humanity was much deterred by the interest of an oppressive government in abusing his scientific insights. Dr Calgori's last works went into the creation of the HMS Ophelia. The Dr. conspired with Captain Robert to deprive this government of the use of his technology through the "theft" of the Ophelia by Robert and other rebels who have made of her a "pirate" ship... At the same time Dr. Calgori destroyed his findings and laboratory further depriving the oppressors [in their lust for instruments of control and exploitation] of his science . During this effort the good Doctor apparently lost his life. |

| This song reminds me of a book I love. Frenzetta by Richard Calder. It would make a perfect theme song. | |
| The Presidents of the United States of America – Peaches Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Wow, all the talk of communism. Okay, I heard this song for the first time today and it was really bugging me where I'd heard the lyrics before. Finally I remembered Hank Hill sang it in an episode of King of the Hill. It was just a little tune he made up on the spot. I think it was in the episode with Willie Nelson. I think they must have taken the line from the show: "Goin' to the counrty, gonna eat a lot of peaches" and expanded on it. Anybody else know what I'm talking about? |

Lyrics to the Beatles song Revolution: You say you want a revolution Well, you know We all want to change the world You tell me that it's evolution Well, you know We all want to change the world But when you talk about destruction Don't you know that you can count me out Don't you know it's gonna be all right all right, all right You say you got a real solution Well, you know We'd all love to see the plan You ask me for a contribution Well, you know We're doing what we can But when you want money for people with minds that hate All I can tell is brother you have to wait Don't you know it's gonna be all right all right, all right Ah ah, ah, ah, ah, ah... You say you'll change the constitution Well, you know We all want to change your head You tell me it's the institution Well, you know You better free you mind instead But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow Don't you know it's gonna be all right all right, all right all right, all right, all right all right, all right, all right |

| Marilyn Manson – Coma White Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This whole album was heavily influenced by a book called "The Atrocity Exhibition". It's a crazy schizophrenic book and I honestly couldn't explain it. But there's a girl in the book named Coma White. |
