| This song is definatly about being in a relationship and watching it fall apart. It's about getting out of a relationship and looking back seeing how it breaking apart. Assesing what went wrong, releasing and moving on. | |

I agree with HappySoul. I think the song is about being in love with a person who is preoccupied with their addictions. "i'll wait 'til summer's over i'll love you through october i'll give you everything i'll trade you anything for her" These lines show her devotion towards her lover. She is letting him know she'll be there forever, but would give anything to trade places with the drugs in his life. She wants to be his preoccupation |

| I think its about being in a relationship with a person who's own sadness/issues is becoming to much and is bring you down. So much so that you would rather be alone than with someone who has rain clouds following them at all times | |

My take of the song is that it refers to outside image versus internal distress. Miss world symbolises what people see, beautiful, perfect and happy. However inside she is dying inside. "i'm miss world, somebody kill me kill me pills, no one cares my friends my friends" - She makes reference to her friends, by friends i think she is refering to those people who become your friends on a shallow baisis. Fairweather friends, who fail to recognize, or turn away from her in her severe depression. "I make my bed I lie in it, I make my bed I lie in it", refers to her awareness that she has put herself in this mess by continually covering up her pain as away to preserve her pristine image. "I am the girl who cant look you in the eye I am the girl I lie and lie and lie" refers to her faking her perfect life. She lives in a constant lie to preserve her image. Essentailly her pain becomes to much to bare, and even though she is surrounded by her adoring friends she is aware their friendship is based on her flash and she is therefore alone in her misery |

To me this song refers to period that immedately follows a the break up of a once very serious relationship. The song describes the adjustment from lovers to friends, or aquaintances. Its a difficult one and in that time you experience a truck load of emotions esspecially the lonesomeness that follows a the break up of a long term relationship. To me its about having those second thoughts and undercover feelings for your ex after the breakup. Apart of you really wants that person again, you forget the bad bits and only focus on what was good. However in the back of your mind you know going back into that relationship will only continue to hurt you. The lines Nobody sees when you are lyin' in your bed "And I wanna crawl in with you but I cry instead I want your warm but it will only make me colder when it's over" depicts that wanting of that person but the awareness that it will only inflict hurt. I love this song, it relates to my break up with the guy I loved. Towards the end being in the relationship just made me bitter. But after we broke up, and I was alone again after being in a 2year relationship, all I wanted was him. |

| Bloc Party – Two More Years Lyrics | 19 years ago |

My interpretation of this song is that it is based on a once happy relationship that eventually turned self-destructive, with one partner becoming severly depressed. The line in the first verse "I've become crueler in your presence" refers to the narrators (Keele's) personality change in the relationship due to the subjects depression. The subjects depression essentially causes a shift in the relationship that alters the narrators behaviour to accomodate the difficulty of being in a relationship, where one partner is locked within themselves, in a misery uncomprehensible to the narrator. "we cover our lies with handshakes and smiles", this line refers to the public face they put on. This false happiness essentially further rips the relationship apart. "dead weights and balloons, drag me to you", often a depressive mind is filled with complexities that trigger the curiousity of others. The narrator is explaining this, he also hints that his attraction has been replaced by his self-assumed responsibilty to save the subject from their misery, that he finds himself caught in. Essentailly what I gather from this song is that it based on a relationship that is no longer bound purely by love, but one that is based on the narrators concern for the person he loves. The song describes a strained relationship where one partner is severly depressed, and the other has essentailly become bitter due to the depressed partners locking themselves into themselves. The narrator (Keele), in the song, explains his refusal to let the subject drown in their misery. "Two more years" refers to the time he plans to stick with the subject, as essentailly he has only "Two years" worth of energy and self strengh to save his love, without growing bitter and being sucked into the subjects sadness. |
