Epicure – Tightrope Walker Lyrics 19 years ago
At first I thought this song was about a severly troubled girl, perhaps depressed. "She's a tightrope walker" because she's on the edge of life, the tightrope, I imagined, was a metaphor for life. The guy was telling her to relax and help her through it. Only problem is he's the streets below, which would put him in death according to that.
However, that does work if he is already dead and this is about her struggling through his passing? That would explain why she waved him goodbye. He's watching over her in death?
And the third and final is the one Amz was saying.
Sorry to write an essay on it :P

Death Cab for Cutie – What Sarah Said Lyrics 19 years ago
iwsfutcmd, I was about to ask that question before I read that you brought it up. It's rather perplexing really and the line can be interpreted two ways.
1) Love is doing the watching, as in a lover is watching the person die
2)Love = watching someone die, so if you are in love with someone you are, in fact, watching them die and love is what causes you to keep watch
So yeah, completely unsure as to which it is.
If it is the second, though, that would mean that the repeated line of "So who's gonna watch you die?" is asking "So who's gonna love you?", although I suppose the first does that as well, it's just that the second is a tad more blatant.
Just some food for thought I guess.
