| Velvet Revolver – Psycho Killer (Talking Heads Cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is actually one of those covers that I like better than the original! | |
| Epica – Replica Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I really think Epica does a great job with their covers. Plus they choose metal songs that are just classic. | |

I'm sorry, this is going to have nothing to do with the song interpretation, but about my opinion on the next A7X album. You can't exactly judge an entire album with one single, but well...I hope the rest of the album is as awesome as this song :) The speaking part ("so how does it feel...") sort of reminded me of Serj Tankian from System of a Down. Now I'm not trying to compare them in any way, but I don't know, anytime soad does smth political, they do the speaking thing (such as "Prison Song") Anyways...Well, as much as I love COE (to the point where it was almost as good as their 2 previous albums to me), I think this new album will define what really A7X is better than COE did. I read an interview with the band somewhere about how they were so concerned with the commercial crap with COE and that now they're going to focus on giving back to their fans :) That seriously made my day. And so will this album when it finally comes out =D So really, I don't understand people who keep repeating the same thing over and over again: that A7X really blew it with COE. To me, I think it was almost a necessary musical phase in their career and at least they've learned something from it and are moving on to improve themselves as well as their music. That may have sounded odd, but ah well, just my opinion :) |

| Sentenced – May Today Become The Day Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Great song, (sorry for being rather random) but today I heard Bon Jovi's "Hey God" and realized the intro sounded exactly like this song's (from 0:16), except of course this is faster and heavier...0.o | |
| Bumblefoot – Meat Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Great song, I guess the meaning has something to do with our inevitable end, which is of course, death ("in the dying game"). That we all have in common, thus "we are all the same" The last part's when the singer dies. The first verse could also mean "you are what you eat" because it's comparing humans with pigs. |

| Suicidal Tendencies – Institutionalized Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Agreed with Jessi Face. Kris! At the Disco, are you for capital punishment? I personally am not..I mean some people aren't necessarily "evil," they're just disturbed, and they need real help, certainly not a death penalty... Anyways with that said, this song could be portraying a mad person, or perhaps the person isn't crazy at all, and just your average teenager.... In the former case, this is probably a cautionary tale about some crazy person. I don't know. Fun song either way =P I'm sure no one's going to take that kinda shit seriously and turn crazy themselves, so I don't see why people like Kris! At the Disco are complaining... |

| Sonata Arctica – Victoria's Secret Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is the first song I've heard from this band. It's brilliant. I think everyone's got the right idea, but I especially like MalachiAD's take on it. The whole "girl who takes things to the extreme because she was bored with her life, which was probably more or less, lonely" seems like a rather shallow/spoiled girl. It sort of reminds me of that book Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. It's about the fashion industry and the main character's a model who does something horrific to herself (although it wasn't suicide) because no matter what she did, she was pretty much bored with her life (I think it was because nobody *truly* noticed her). Which in turn makes a connection with the Victoria's Secret fashion show, yeah? That probably only made a little sense since it had nothing to with suicide or religion, but I hope it helped. |

| Epica – Façade of Reality (The Embrace That Smothers Part V) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is what got me into Epica. The transition between choir and vocals in 0:59 is beautiful. I wonder about the translation of the other language, but I assume it's close to what the chorus means. | |
| Naio Ssaion – n.ss (Slovenian Version) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I like the original better than the English version. Same goes for the other song, Bla bla. It gets a little cheesy when converted to English, in my opinion. But I guess it was sorta necessary for their Int. debut stuff. |

| Sentenced – The Suicider Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Amazing song. This is one of my favorite choruses... Yeah, the meaning is straight forward...Some kinda symbolic character of suicide.. Ahhh...a few sentences won't do this song justice..but oh well :P |

| Naio Ssaion – Blah-Blah Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
First comment of band (although I don't know them that well yet) :) I don't think the lyrics are anything special, but I do like the music, especially the electric violin, in this song, and the folk-y kind of intro. I don't understand the connection between the lyrics and the name of the song, but... well, I guess the pronounciation of their name is no longer a mystery, as in the last verse (for me, at least) :P |
|
| The Smashup – No Name Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Ok, I have no clue what the first verse means, but I think the song as a whole could be about the insignificance of a person. This person in this song obviously thinks he's only contributing to society if he makes a name for himself, hence, "No Name." To achieve that, he's trying to become a rockstar, or to fit into a stereotype, but he dies in the end... So...the last verse is something like how one should just try to live being themselves, yknow, instead of focusing on fitting into a stereotype and shit, so they'd die knowing they mean something to someone and themselves. I hope that made sense :) |

| Ron Thal – Hangup Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Ah, I like Ron Thal's sense of humour :) Gotta love the ending. This song is self-explanatory...so generally, it's about lack of self confidence, I think. |

| Necrophagia – Akumu Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Yes it is, take it from a Japanese :) I'd like to hear this song, but I haven't yet..'cause Megaupload isn't working at the mo....I'll check it later.. |

^agrees These songs (not all of them, obviously) off Karmacode have a Korn sound to them, I think. Like the bass and the riffs, for example. |

Holy shit, I added this in the wrong page XP Sorry, possibly delete the post? |

| Symphony X – The Odyssey Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I'm probably gonna be burned at the stake for saying this, but.. This song reminds me of the Spice Girls. Ya know...the verse...kinda sounds like umm..that song, 2 become 1. C'mon, you gotta admitt.. Ahhh. But hey, otherwise, it's a cool song. |

| Evanescence – Sweet Sacrifice Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I thought the whole Ben-leaving-the band have already died down... Man, you can't speak for him, or any of the band members..no one knows their personal lives, and I'm sure they don't want us to...and Ben isnt even in the band anymore. | |
| Evanescence – Cloud Nine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
As many people have already said, this album takes a couple of listens to really like. I think this is one of those albums where you won't hear the real thing on the first listen, so don't dismiss it right away (unless you really aren't into these kinds of things). I've given it a couple of listens, and I must say, catchy or not, Evanescence is Evanescence, and I do like this album very much. So, it honestly doesn't bother me whether Amy was thinking about her fans or not when she was writing her album :P |

| Evanescence – Your Star Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
As much as people say this song is annoying...I think the instrumentalization in it makes up for it. Well, it would make sense if this is Terry's favorite song because the guitar's pretty damn good. The music starting from around 2:35. Very Nice. Sorry I'm focusing on the music 'stead of the lyrics, but the people here pretty much covered that part of the song. |

blonde...figures... No, I'm joking I guess that interpretation works... If taken kind of literaly...Though there's been too much discussion on the whole Amy's abusive relationship idea so I hope this doesnt morph into one of those... I like TheGlassIs1/2Full's idea. Makes much sense. |
|
| Bumblefoot – Guitars SUCK Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Wow. All that out of an instrumental piece? Naw, it's not *just* an intrumental piece... But hey, that just about clarifies what the title means in relation to the song. 'Cause I've wondered. That explanation is so cool |
|
| The Smashup – Effigy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Well, an effigy is a representation of a person in the form of a dummy or some sort of crude figure. Usually a hated person/group. So the scarecrow would be the person's effigy... And he wants to be punished for all his crimes... Pretty self-deprecating song, imo. Ahh...well, there are other interpretations, and that's just mine. "birthstone December cauterize" is such a nice line :P |

If you read our "reviews" then you'd know I mentioned Origin...And I'm pretty sure not all of us just jumped on the bandwagon.. I find this album to be a mix of of the sounds in the Origin and Fallen era, really. Music-wise, though. |

| Bumblefoot – Rockstar for a Day Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song's hilarious! Great to know there are still bands out there that care about how superficial the media is... So far this is the only Bumblefoot song I have, and I've listened to some samplers on their site, and I think I might like this band. Does anyone know where to download their stuff? Or I might as well just buy they're CD off amazon or smth...Can't find them around here tho, =/ |

| Evanescence – Lose Control Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think the music is beautiful. The general meanings, I think everyone cleared that up. My take on the last two lines though, "If I cut you down to a thing I can use, I fear there will be nothing good left of you." Is that she's afraid of accidentally falling in love with the guy that's her...well, fuck buddy, because she knows he can't be a potential partner, proven by the fact that he cheated on his woman with her.. |

| Evanescence – Sweet Sacrifice Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The songs I've heard so far off the new album is starting to really grow on me; something Evanescence songs have a tendency to do to me =P The Open Door sounds creepier and more industrial (?) ex: the intro of Snow White Queen. And Amy's vocals differ from previous albums. Evanescence is bound to be different now that there is only one member left that was one of the original song writers on Fallen and Origin...In my opinion, I'd rather have Amy Lee write honest lyrics than something that sells... |

This song has amazing lyrics, but I need clarification on this one line..."I forgot the fingering for the barre chords in drop D" It clearly says that on the CD jacket and in lyric sites. However...I hear something along the lines of "I erased my fingernails with (something) and gasoline" Is that just me? |

*Edit* "they are descending" my bad. |

| Evanescence – Sweet Sacrifice Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I agree with Leila Black^ But what I immediately noticed when I first listened to this song was that the chorus, "innocent thing" sounded just like Within Temptation's "Dark Wings"'s chorus, the "they are surrounding" part... Just thought that was interesting, though I guess it's not all that significant. But I don't think it's possible to compare Evanescence with WT, so I'll leave it at that. I know people say guitar's not Evanescence's strongest point..but damn, I thought the guitar work in this song was really nice. I don't have a problem with Amy being too "open" or whatever. As for the meaning...hmm..I can't contribute anything for the moment, but I might come up with something later. |
