maybe its like columbine. the murderer that commited suicide 1st. there were 9 boys killed, and he had just killed 1, 8 before. then he killed himself, thus deeming himself "the 10th man down" i really dunno, but i dont like the song because nightwish has the best songs, but the guns in the background sucks out all the nightwish aspect. |

| this seems like it is based on some tragic event, like sum shooting, but it is hard to have an opinion about a song that can bring up conflict. it isnt the best song for nightwish, they used gunshots, which ruins their theme. sad song? you decide... | |

there are three people represented. father, singer, other ppl refered to. the other ppl are crippled, old, somehow useless to the system they are in. the girl is a virgin. the father is a father. (like preist father, not dad father) he probably kills the useless people and eats them, because now there is one less mouth to feed every time theres one less job to fill. these guys gete chomped, but not yet, it happens after the song. tarja (singer) is a virgin (my thoughts, not yours). when killing all htose people to make the group more efficient, they need to spill blood for the sake of their gods too (call it religeon -line 4) so they kill a virgin. shes like "I dont wanna die, this is crazy" and hes like "shut up, I dont care, the people I am about to kill were people that shaped me (friends, family, teachers, enemies, etc.) but im gonna kill them anyway, because this is how it is. It wasn't built around a tribute to shootings. its more of a dedication to something similar. 4 pink ones - 4 girls killed 9 blue ones - 9 boys killed 2 black ones - 2 murderers killed (just for the clear up) so the kids had the intension of making the people they killed heroes? no. and nobody, of the 24 injured, was eaten. dunno wat im missing, but nightwish should stick to cool demons / ghosts / angels / weird stuff. If i was killed by gunfire and was referenced to in a song, I wouldn't want my voice to be interprated by a singer that sings 10 octives higher than me. for the people killed, nobody deserves to die, but u should respect people more, and not out of fear either. and 4 the murderers, I know how it feels to be made fun of, but when I think about offing a bully, I decide to watch a funny movie instead :) and 4 nightwish... nice try, good intent, good song, bad idea. poseidon, you are a wise individual, you really know your stuff, and you will go far, but no matter how sad the story is, nightwish isnt the way to go. |

man, this song makes me mad when I focus on the lyrics, but it is the third of 4 or 5 or w/e over the hills songs that is a true display of music as it should be. I was brought up in a household where I was raised without any introduction to the one thing I like, biological engineering. my mom doesnt get it and nobody does. So this dude's got an uncle walt that brings him to his future passion when hes still pooing his pants, and i'm like, "I could have used an uncle walt... take me to some top secret lab..." so this guy has this passion that he was introduced to as a child, but worries he will die before he goes back to the woods every time he leaves, so he can't really enjoy it |

I have heard the song, but it doesnt seem like it is about the lyrics. its about 9:50 long, and theres a 13 second pause. it is so changing, it doesnt make sense. the beginning reminds me of the stampede scene from the lion king, then it goes to some weird LOTR scene where soneone is just sorta walking in the woods. then it switches to random useless time fillers with no words or good instruments. then to a renaissance fair with a bunch of midgets dancing, then back to the lion king, then to a section that really makes it tedious. good song though, but it just jumps around more than me without focus medication. |

this song has a funny line at the end. when reading it without trying to make it sound good, it is about a person who meets another person, and the other person's name is "angels whispering." it doesn't seem funny until they follow it up with the fact that the name is so beautiful that it hurts. this song is about someone who doesn't have a place. they can be themselves, do what they want, yadda yadda, but they have not found what they need. the crying was saying, I dumped you, so chillax. Im the one whose scared, cuz im never gonna find the right person. and the sea is portrayed even in the modern world as this vast undiscovered land. maybe tuomas isnt reallt into humans. he might be a mermaid type person. |

tarja got booted on live TV because she was greedy listen to over the hills and far away if you like this song they talk about being arrogent and falling from a throne that you didn't deserve, but they use a bad example. they use a gull that was victim to an oil spill and was injured, and was pushed out of his life of gull-ness. but it isn't selfish, because the gull never did anything to us. The nightwish songs are fun to interprit, because you argue for about 5 minutes, and realize the song is just badly written. btw, who is the riddler? |

Okay. there are three aspects to look at here. band, song, and video Band: Nightwish is a good band, they have some amazing songs. the only problem is the singerm because though she has a trained voice, it belongs with a song that is all about the voice. the way this song was displayed by nightwish, it couldn't have been better. the girls voice was soft and loud when it needed to be, and it is the best nightwish song ever. the song means nothing. It is about a guy that goes around and does dumb stuff, like rob people and have sex with married people. then he is caught, but can't get out of it because all his excuses lead to other crimes. then it is unclear, but it doesnt matter because the song is so good. video: go to youtube. its a guy who is fighting other guys and people trying to capture him. then he fights with more guys, and theres about 5 seconds of a person sitting on a big rock. then it ends with a bunch of people breathing fire and a house blowing up. In my opinion, songs aren't meant to be understood, they are meant to be listened to and enjoyed. poems are meant to be understood. |
