The Stone Roses – Guernica Lyrics 17 years ago
Considering Squire's interest in art, the title is logical. With most of their backwards tracks the lyrics were an interpretaton of what the original words sounded like backwards, Guernica being Made of Stone backwards. That makes for lyrics that are even more ambigious than is usual for the ever cryptic Roses (take a look at Don't Stop for example). The title I guess serves only to set a mood that fits the darkness of the lyrics, and an interpretation beyond that is up to the listener.

The Stone Roses – I Am Without Shoes Lyrics 17 years ago
Pretty difficult to decipher what the lyrics actually are, let alone what they mean. Without looking into any hidden meaning, it sounds and feels like absolute surrender to love/desire.
The song is a section of She Bangs The Drums played backwards with forwards vocals. The Roses had it played as their intro to the Anti Clause 28 gig in 1988.
This goes right up alongside Guernica and Simone for soul-stirring potency. Something about the backwards songs just really connects (can't really get along with Full Fathom Five myself though). Simone especially is worth checking out if you havn't heard it.

The Stone Roses – Sally Cinnamon Lyrics 17 years ago
I personally don't think that this is about a lesbian relationship, though that is a possibility.
Why can't the letter have been taken from Sally's pocket, and the fact that the song then says: 'sent to HER...' and 'you're HER...', mean that the writer of the letter is just as special to Sally as she is to him? Perhaps she is on the train going to meet him!

Ambiguity makes it an even better song anyway.
