i like reading these interpretations, since i honestly don't have much of an idea myself, or a respectable one. falling in love is falling into vunerability. you're risking a broken heart but you can't control your own emotions; delving into the deepest of human emotion and sometimes you fall into shallow waters. then you have to get back up, brush yourself off, saying "oh well," and move on. harder for most than it seems. |

pheonix fire? i'm over here in wilton nh. which is definately best described as this song. god...someone take me away from here. -_- maynard has the most beautiful voice in the world. i like how this song is more simple compared to their others with the complicated meanings and hidden references...it's a nice change for us stupid people. :) |

well i got "ready to blow my head off"-- he's really depressed. with a gun, mebbe. suicide reference. i'm guessing jon wrote these lyrics. he seems so depressed, i'd give him a hug but i'd be scared he'd bite my arm off. =\ i think it also says "i just wanna laugh again" i love that line. i think maybe he's referencing to that shit that happened to him as a kid-- wasn't he raped?? therefore he feels dirty. can't say i'm right on any of this, it's just how i see it. such a painful song, it's beautiful. |

this is a great song, i think they're actually improving their lyrics and sound and it's better than the old stuff. i like shakeyness in his voice, and how he holds it longer than in most of his other songs. p.s. i think it's "black dogs" not black bots but hey whatever haha i don't care if people think korn sucks, i love them and that's all that matters to me. & is it just me or does jon look really weird with a grill?? o.O |

this is a very beautiful song. the piano intro seems familiar... anyways, i think maybe someone made her feel finally happy, so she feels like she could do anything for them. she's finding herself again, she's letting go of her love for pain, and she's scared but she's finally becoming who she wants to be, and she's a happier person because of it. that's nice, it's an uplifting song. =] |

i agree totally with Liquid-Spear-Waltz. sometimes music can be your only escape, if you don't release it somehow your problems will soon catch up to you-- your ghosts. Being able to pull yourself apart and piece together rhymes about it like a puzzle must be extremely difficult, but according to Amy (&band, of course) it's worth it. |

yeah, they did have a song called Tuna Afternoon, it was just a bunch of silly stuff they mixed together. she had tuna that afternoon, so they called it that. haha they should have stuck with that name for the album :P i kinda like this song, i like the lyrics but again, the music doesn't seem to fit. ehh. oh well...at least they finally released this album, can't complain. =] |

lol @ razorblade sanity's comment...ditto to that, mate ;) yeah, i agree with the cheating concept. or just the constant fear of being unable to let yourself go, do whatever you want, be true to yourself. and eventually you drive yourself insane and just want to do whatever you feel like. at that point you're dangerous. o.O i love the "pretty flowers in the dust" part. definately more metaphoric than the rest of the album; love it! |

in my opinion it's not the best on the album; but don't worry, there's songs that still reveal old evanescence-yness: Lithium, Snow White Queen, Lose Control, Good Enough, and the bonus track All That I'm Living For. those are my favourites. otherwise, i love the album, but i can't really say it's better than fallen. amy and terry did a good job without ben though. even though i kind of miss his writing...*reminisces to My Immortal* |

it was really cool that amy wrote about what she felt and all, but i kind of sucks that she "wasn't really thinking about the fans" when she was writing the album- it makes it less relatable and catchy. i mean, i know the whole screw-mainstream part of it, i'm not disagreeing with the people that approve the weird new sound, i'm just saying...fallen had a certain mystique to it. and now this album seems more random and hard to follow. i still like it, it's just...different. oh well. evanescence is unique, and they've proved that yet again with this album. |

i love the lyrics to this, but the music is if-y. i don't know. it just seems a little too hardcore for the subject, but i do love the guitars-- i'm just saying maybe they could've made this one softer and left the guitars for the more hardcore songs. =\ still evanescence though, so it's still amazing. |

actually, she wrote this is Lisbon when she was depressed, because she was having a bad day and then she looked out the window to see the stars but there weren't any there; thus driving her over the edge a little, i guess. it makes more sense with the terry thing. i don't know, it's what i read in an interview. either way it's pretty. :) |
