the lyric should actually be: "WRITING in the dark air" And, to me, the song seems to be about E feeling lonely, even though he's considered a popular guy - a rock star, at this point. Even around all these people, he feels sad and alone - and is thinking of one person in particular. The end could be him feeling bitter towards that person, for not being with him - or him talking to himself, hating himself for feeling this way. |
