A painted portrait of love. How it has it's ups and downs. How no one is truly perfect. How in the line of work one can do to gain money they start to lose their soul. When this 'man' loses his piece of the woman he was with he uses her as a tool rather than a lesson learned. She puts up with his lies not out of anger,disbelief, or unlove - but love itself. Towards the end of the song she is starting to lose full faith in the relationship and the man she married as it seems he will NEVER change. "When I first saw your gallery I liked the ones of ladies But now their faces follow me And all their eyes look shady" It can also mean the woman's perspective of love isn't love but mistrust. |

| well this is in response to the upper comment about how she took this song from a dude (a dead dude supposedly) - maybe this song is about the guy singing it not tori she did say she took it from him so.........could easily get misinterpreted as one could see but as any one would know a song can be taken in many different ways. for me this song is just about pure mood jupiter is a safety net and she's(he whichever) trying to break free for whatever reason it isn't as good as it seems luckily jupiter is far from earth otherwise one might have a harder time breaking free of something so far distant..but one must remember what they are breaking free of sometimes to keep ahead - some memories we cannot allow ourselves to break because our futures are destined upon them..our history is apart of us as much as our future that's what the song says to me..go figure that a dead guy would have to say it lol? | |

| before I even end with that comment I would just like to say this song to me showed a very spiritual man who was painting a sky - u know top gun sort of play air shows have this with multi colored stuff- and as all songs they will mean whatever they will mean to u fortunately I most often screw up lyrics so I didn't seem to recognize all of this 'stereotypical' bs thats being commented about this song I think to each is own ..but should really focus on the fun parts of the song to see its beauty u dont have to know what all of the words mean or focus on every little part imo to enjoy a song | |

This song means that some people grow up even as children to have a dream and then have it last until they are an elderly person. Sadly in our society this is a hard undertaking. Children have dreams and they sometimes change because they realize who they really are later on or vice versa. Maybe some one knows who they truly are at a young age. This song is an entire repetitive succession and people twist it like any major thing known to man and universal I think that is the point of the song. Your dreams will be born some day that was what freddie was trying to say I think. Afterall he didnt even get to live a ripe old age so what I said previously fits. Not every one gets to live to be 100 or not every child lives to see their adult hood because of ill circumstances freddie's was HIV/aids |

| This song is about coming to terms with how a person has treated you. She's letting go of these poisoned feelings even though they seem rather eloquent there is alot of anger and emotion released like a pressure valve going off..YET with all this powerful emotion and beauty they cannot understand how she feels or who she really is..its a sad tragic like scenery. one of the things i dislike about the song is that it seems very meloncholy but every one needs a good cry now and then :) and beautiful composition take care fiona :) i think the fact that every one needs a good cry now and then goes very well with the title of this song 'never is a promise' because then it goes with the saying 'never say never' i dunno i think she is referring to that saying cuz its a cliche and infamous one :)...but thats just me | |

This song has many meanings - to different people. Here's what I think : (general topic) - what it starts out to be. A boy who has a problem could be anything but it was traumatic or significant to his life. Notice how they also showed the faces of the band players who ALSO went through trauma during their lives. The ship is a representation of the journey they(any one traumatized) took. So the ship is some form of memorablia(spelling?). He gives the ship over to the 3 girls who throw the ship back into the water. This could mean either they understood the trauma and didn't care or maybe they didn't even chance it(to look at it). He grabs for the ship later on in the video(the child)but ends up crashing into the water. Maybe at some point in time he leaves the experience behind. Instead to become incased behind a wall of trauma. When manyard comes up to surface this signifies a breaking point (breakthrough). The happy crowd dancing and the 3 adult women symbolize perhaps the people who never cared or those who never try to understand his tragedy. Maybe they lived their own behind their own walls - "eyes of a fallen angel, eyes of a tragedy, oh well, apprently nothing at all". Each having the three. Ignorance,knowledge, and the third is perhaps a bit of both (the dancers). But not one or any of them could break through the wall except of course..manyard? (they stop showing the boy) perhaps this is about growing up and persevearing thru trauma..:) any way hope that helps |
