| Deftones – Minerva Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Minerva is a Roman, Virgin Goddess of warriors, poetry, and the inventor of songs. In the song I believe it's apparent that he would be either singing to the Goddess, herself-- or the whole overall idea of music. Talking about the way that music makes him feel, breaks his heart, makes him feel alive, etc. |

| Filter – Take A Picture Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Best line: Could everyone agree that no one should be left alone? So good, makes me feel hopeful, and this song is just a happy in the moment kind of song. And the idea of taking a picture to remember that you did feel happy at one time in your life. It kind of gives you something to hold on to. |

| Explosions in the Sky – Remember Me as a Time of Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I remember listening to this song one time. I was actually in the bathroom. It was playing behind me on a stereo, and I just thought about my life for the past year at that time. I thought about everything, then I began to cry. And then the song picked up, and it just made me feel so happy. It definitely binds hope into the song. Explosions in the Sky has an amazing way of turning everything in music into a much deeper story. Listening to it, I imagine all these kids playing happily, and then just beautiful weather outside. Really, it just reminds me of the passing of time, and what it does to people. Simply amazing. |

| Third Eye Blind – Monotov's Private Opera Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The song alludes to Savva Mamontov. The creator of the Russian Private Opera in Moscow. His success with the opera led to a triumph in moscow in the late 1800's. Most likely, it is referring to the way you can change things. In this sense, Stephen Jenkins was probably thinking that music could change things-- being that he is so passionate about it. |

| Iron & Wine – Each Coming Night Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I really relate to the second verse of this song. When he sings: Will you say to them when I'm gone away: "I loved your son for his sturdy arms We both learned to cradle then live without" I really relate to that. I had a girlfriend for half a year and we just broke up about a month ago. She always told me one of the best feelings she had was when I held her. She told me that she loved my arms because they were big, and I guess: sturdy. So to me it feels that the second verse personally belongs to me. She has learned to live without me now, she has someone else. However, I really have learned to live without her. And it was just when it kind of felt like our love was at it's peak. |

| Brand New – Fork and Knife Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Brandnewman I think you have a really good point about what is going on in Jesse's head. If you listen to Brothers it makes alot of sense. He sings about how the war is ruining families and lives. I think political beliefs have been slipping a lot more into his songs lately. I really like it too. |

I definitely have been listening to the demo of this song, and I just found it on iTunes- single. What a badass song. Jesse Lacey seriously can create just the most beautiful lines out of simple and sad words. I love the part about the wolf in the kitchen which I just heard for the first time. "I'm leaving you to nurture cherished wounds" I think he is saying, he loves someone alot but it is hurting him. However, at the same time, he is loving her while it hurts so the wounds would be cherished because it was from the one that he loves. Kind of reminds me of myself at this point in my life. I also love the new one that is coming out. "Trees" is what I call it. But it might be called "Brickhouse" or "Bride." Jesse Lacey is soooo good at writing sad songs. Demo #1 is the shit too. So sad! |

This song is kind of sad. But it is very misleading because it sounds so happy. |

unchained, you are gay! It infers nowhere in the lyrics that he is trapped by his kids and financial security. Go blow a cock you sack of shit. |

| The Ataris – If You Really Want to Hear About It Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is based off of The Catcher in the Rye. "He say's he'll write, but he won't write, So stay the fuck home and greet everyone with goodbye." This is talking about Holden Caulfield in the catcher in the rye. The last chapter of the book, he says "One of the psychoanalysts they have here asked me if I am going to apply myself. I don't know if I'm going to, I mean, how do you know if you're going to before you actually have?" It is just about Holden because he does not apply himself at school. He is a confused teenager in the world. |

| The Smashing Pumpkins – Today Lyrics | 18 years ago |
If this is the song about him being depressed to the point that it can't get any worse. Than wouldn't this song be about the fact that he doesn't want this feeling to fade because he knows that he is still alive and nothing that hard will ever come his way again. Either way, this song is one of the best songs I've ever heard. |

| Modest Mouse – Baby Blue Sedan Lyrics | 18 years ago |
If a Eunuch is a castrated male, and they all wanted to get out as fast as they can. Maybe it was Prom and those are just the people that hated it because everyone else was having the time of their life, while they had their balls cut off. This could even be mentally (Being afraid to ask someone to dance) or physically (knowing that they will never be able to make a child with the women that they love in the world) and that is what makes them so lonely is that they know they will never be able to love someone the way that they want, or they don't feel like they deserve them, or is just a pussy and afraid to ask a girl to dance, date, marry, anything. |

| Modest Mouse – Make Everyone Happy/Mechanical Birds Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The whole meaning of the song is just happiness. He wants to be happy, he wants to be right. "And I'd hate to see anybody thank you" That line is jealousy. but I think he is trying to hide what he is feeling, and instead tries to make everyone happy. but that can't be done because it is just so optimistic. Trying to please everyone just isn't possible. Also the opening lines where he says that he knew that he was right. I think that he tried making everyone happy and he just decided to fuck it, and make himself happy because he is the only one that he has to live with for his whole life. So you'd better be happy with who you are. And the whole mechanical birds. I think it is Symbolism for peace with everyone because he is trying to create some peace. Much like a Mechanical bird, it is never the same as it is naturally, and is just not possible because it is so optimistic to try to live in a world like that. |

| Pink Floyd – Mother Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The mother is just a metaphor for anything, in any sense. Whether it is political or anything. |
| Pink Floyd – Mother Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The wall is him being closed off and stubborn, and just the things that helped him become who he is. This song just explains that his mother helped him become the way that he is. Like most mothers do influence their children, whether they drive their children crazy by being overprotective or not caring at all. This is just him asking questions about his future: what will happen to me in the future. Mother's are just very influential people. |

| Modest Mouse – Edit the Sad Parts Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"I made my shoes shine with my coal, But my polish didn't shine the hole" That is the best line, I think. I think it most definitely means that no matter how good you make something look, it won't ever really feel as good as it looks. Or that you cant hide some things. |

| Alexisonfire – Happiness By The Kilowatt Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song, to me, I think its about getting everything, and not being satisfied. Never being satisfied, because with the right drapes, and all that stuff, it is not emotional health, and without that sense of happiness. There is no happiness if you tried to create it. |
