Grilling means they're question the person, probably making them doubt their current self. Pulling them in would be convincing the person and the other two lines are telling them what's right and wrong (what cults...I mean religions do). "Open up now Let it all go I'm quiet certain Say it ain't so You're corrupted by Some sick fuck Oh no" Jon wants them to realize it's not the truth and wake up, but the other person is certain. Jon thinks they've been corrupted by a nut jub (fundamentalist). I don't need to explain the rest. I think it's obvious what the songs means if religion is the context. This can be about head or anyone in general that's brainwashed by religion. |

sandwich and meta: They can't see through their ignorance of believing in fairies to know what a metaphor or allegory is. They don't have a clue how an atheist thinks b/c everyone must be like them, fearing death (most of us do not). It doesn't matter what the actual meaning is, but to be so ignorant is typical of a religious person. |

(I know it's pretty straight forward song) but I think it's about really needing to hear them say they love you and why you're so great to them, so you can feel good. I can completely identify with that, it's elating. |

| I think it's pretty obvious. It's about how our (US and other) gov'ts are the real enemy. Imposing what they want done (which is obviously not in the best interests of the ppl) and how it will be the end of us. In the last two lines he's telling ppl that if you don't speak up and fight, we're gonna lose. Basically about how gov'ts want to become dictatorships and completely control everyone (very similar to religion which he hates too of course :P) | |
