Soundgarden – Loud Love Lyrics 19 years ago
Seems like nobodies actually said what the song is about, so I'll jump in...

Loud Love, I believe refers to that excitement everybody needs. That extreme exhilaration everyone gets from a fight or from sports that just makes them feel free and high.

Soundgarden – Head Down Lyrics 19 years ago
Considering there's a picture of a baby in the original booklet of lyrics, I'd guess it's about babies. Sort of just the end of innocence and how cynicism develops. "head down" itself is exactly how this song feels : A person with a extremely unoptimistic view of the world who just trudges around frowning and being sad because others have convinced them the world has no hope.

Chris Cornell – Can't Change Me Lyrics 19 years ago
Sounds more like the girl knows what Chris needs to make himself a better person and more succesfull - but he's too proud to let that happen.

Soundgarden – Burden in My Hand Lyrics 19 years ago
BIMH has always been to me that feeling you get when you have something so sacred and special and you lose it because of some stupid irresponsible and immature decision. The first line is indicative of this : "Follow me into the desert, as thirsty as you are" - come with me, to a place that is exactly the opposite of what you need. A stupid and selfish move. "Crack a smile and cut your mouth and drown in alcholol" Again, do something that is self-destructive.
This next line has always been important to me "
Oh no there she goes
Out in the sunshine the sun is mine" This suggest to me that perhaps the female is doing something on her own, out of his control, that angers him greatly. So, he "shoots" her. the one thing he loves, he kills or destroys, and so he asks "would you cry for me", as the one thing he loves has left him and he has no one to confide in. I think, as others suggested, the character in this story, almost, has a drinking problem that is the main reason for him losing what he holds specail to himself.
