| Saving Jane – Ordinary Lyrics

I think this is more about people in general. Think of the narrator as a street performer in a huge city, talking to the people who pass her by every day and won't remember her face in five seconds.
Or she sees a certain guy walking past her every day and he never knows she's there...oh the angst! really good song. |

While most of the songs on this CD are talking to God, I think this one is talking to Satan. "waiting for your chance...you want your lies to smother me again..." The narrator is telling Satan that even though he's beaten him/her in the past, he's wasting his time with tempting him/her, because God is fighting for him/her now. |

This is a slow version of Pt. 1, and whereas the faster version deals with running away from God, the lyrics are tweaked slightly on this version to make it more about coming back to Him and giving Him everything. It's about redemption. |

To me, this song is about running from God and not dealing with your sin ("followed by what I left inside"). That cliche saying "you can run but you can't hide" is pretty much what the song deals with. Even though the person is running away, he/she still can't escape God's voice (close my eyes, these voices stay/ haunting me, i can't escape...) Running away from God is essentially throwing away His love, and that's something you won't find anywhere else.
This entire CD is amazing, especially for a new band. If you don't have it, go buy it. |

| Kutless – Better For You Lyrics

Well, the main idea of this is pretty plainly stated, "choose a little pain and gain a life with joy/ accepting pleasure now will earn a life of pain..." On a basic level, being a Christian isn't always easy, but better to suffer a little now than to suffer eternally later. The narrator is confused, because it always seems like the bad guy wins and the good guy gets knocked down, but in the end it's better for us to suffer because it brings us closer to God. |
