I have my own routine now I’m keeping busy in my own way I’m learning ways to not feel Like I’m down here forever Everyone knows when you die and become a ghost your stuck like that and he’s trying to keep himself busy and trying not to remember how he’s stuck there for her. I hear your footsteps Move the floorboards above my head I hope you know that I’m down here Just for you He’s talking to her and letting her know that she’s the only reason for him coming back as a ghost I sang a song to you through the floor To reach you upstairs I thought I heard you call out for more I know that’s crazy Hes singing to her hoping she’ll hear him and know that he’s there. Now the calling out for more, I have three theories . I think that shes trying to get over him and sexing another guy and that’s her calling out for more and because hes in the basement he thinks shes talking to him. OR it could be unconsciously that she remembers him singing to her and shes calling out for more. OR it could be his imagination because after that he says he knows its crazy. I’m pretty sure that I’m lost again It won’t get through to you I won’t get through I think I won’t get through I’m gonna close my mouth now You don't need more noise in your life I miss you more than you know But I know time makes you move on He knows that no matter what he tries in the end she won’t know he’s there because he’s a ghost she can’t hear or see him. i also think people put too much importance into virginity. its not that great. and when you loose it and you've treasureed it from what i've heard and read then you regret it, if you don't put that much importance into it then it really doesn't seem like that big a deal. it should be with the right person and you shouldn't be drunk and all but seriously. it doesn't make a difference and nobody knows or cares so why should you feel so cold and empty about it all? anyway this is a really good song. and does anyone know if Underoath posts meanings on their website? x |

hmm i agree with all of you. this song is about the regrets of sex before marraige. as a christian myself i have had sex before marriage and i am still only 14 and i know it was wrong in the eyes of god but my thoughts on the lyrics [I'm so addicted] is that once you've done it you do crave for it again and again which is why u just keep doing it. in the eyes of god you think you have died and so forth. i actually don't regret it at all but i can see why people do. if its just not right and if ur not ready then it will suck. but i think this song is amazing and i think everybody here has pretty much got it right. x |

Well this song can have two meaning which my friend and I used to argue about a lot. Firstly, I think this song is about Religious beliefs. He hammered the nails into Jesus hands and denied him while Jesus still loved him and searched for him, and finally he wants Jesus to save him. "Now your eyes are the only thing that can save me," he is asking for forgiveness. He’s saying he’s pitiful for what he’s done, and now he wants to be saved. now this is what my friend has to say: “in the line “But I know as I hammered those nails into your beautiful hands your eyes still try to search for mine, but I look away." It is meant to say that the persona of the song is trying to hold back the person of whom he/she speaks the person that he/she is holding back forcefully, with some sort of pain or another loves the persona. The persona in one part doesn’t want to do it, but has to and thus "looks away."” “holding back forcefully" The persona has to because of issues within him, not because of outside forces making him do such. |

This song is supposed to reflect Moulin Rouge. He can't have her because she is signed to the Moulin Rouge and she can't love him and he can't love her.
