Parts of this song remind me of George Orwell's 1984, particularly
I'm living in an age
That calls darkness light
Though my language is dead
Still the shapes fill my head
Kind of like blackwhite and newspeak

| Explosions in the Sky – Remember Me as a Time of Day Lyrics

This song is amazing. I guarantee, if you've had a bad day, and just feel tired, it will help you. The beginning is so numbingly downbeat, you'll relate to it immediately, but as the song progresses, it turns into a positive thing. Almost, "Things are going to be okay" feeling. At least, that's how I see it. |

Sloathy, that is a brilliant yet disconcerning analogy of this story. I think I've just chosen a song I want playing at my funeral. This makes a good highway song, driving alone at night when the stereo goes quiet and you can only hear a faint ringing noise, prodding at your emotions, provoking the most arcane thought from your mind. |

To me, this song is a scene of staring into the night sky, watching the stars mingle with the fireworks, and being inspired to do something wonderful. I think this is a story about the memories of naming the band "Explosions in the Sky." From my personal favourite album, How Strange, Innocence. |

Agreed about the title being thought-provoking, although I personally like Six Days At The Bottom Of The Ocean myself. This song actually reminds me of the only time I was alone with someone, and it's a relieving feeling to remember. |

Something I find EiTS does with their music, they'll write a title, and give the untold story a soundtrack. It's up to you to build it. I think, more than any song, First Breath is the most diversified in terms of story telling. |

I am in love with a girl named Jasmin, and this song in particular brings up the most accurate memories and feelings I've ever had about her, particularily at 1:21. It's so harmonious that in listening, I want to explode, but at the same time, it's the most calming thing I've ever heard. |
