this is their best song ever and one of THE best lyrics ever by anyone: and in a darkened underpass I thought Oh God, my chance has come at last but then a strange fear gripped me and I just couldn't ask i agree with the sentiments about it being about the song being about the kind of disconnection you feel from your parents as a teenager and how is easy it is to fall in love with people similar to yuo girl or boy and not really knowing how to tell them or if you should. also when i first started listening to this song i thought the refrain at the end was "FEAR is a light and it never goes out" which i really liked in the concept of the song. i still sing it like that. |

i love the whole sound of this song...the way it builds from the dark sounds from the beginning throgh the middle to the great last minute...every time i hear it i can't wait until about 4.21 when the something to say part comes in. it reminds me of an oasis song slide away which is similar in the ending although not as dark at all. i think both songs are both bands best. love the date rape theory...would never have thought of it like that but can see reasoning. i thnk it's about someone who keeps doing wrong and knows it but always has the same haven to return to...maybe to someone whose been through same and understands and listens to them |
