Anyone who calls Syd crazy, is crazy themself. I like part 2 of this song better than this but this is some of the greatest music ever to be heard. If you know Syd's history and his music and his peaceful post-floyd life than you probably would think Shine On You Crazy Diamond is amazing. Syd was a genious no matter what anyone says. And when you hear the funeral march bit towards the end of Part 2 I feel so many emotions. When its playing and fading out very slowly I can just imagine Syd looking down on every one of us from heaven above. I have never cried at the end of a movie, I have never cried when a family member died. But at the end of part 2 tears always fill my eyes. |

Sambennallick you go to Hell! Anyway I always thought the ping sounds at the begining and somewhat throughout the song as watter droplets falling from nowhere into a puddle. Like on the cover of Meddle there is water and I always related the begining to the cover. And to all of you redneck chubby-chasers comeing in here with your "16:30 minutes of crap" speeches are just pathetic. The original song is 23:30 long and you can't watch Mind of Mencia (Or any other rubbish)while you listen to this song eather, don't watch tv and listen to this song, you should eather stare at a blank wall or listen to it in the dark. |

Let me start off by saying that annamsani your long incoherent post followed by your riduculiously untrue short post has undoubtfully killed us all a little inside. And Is the biggest waste of the working human brain since From Justin to Kelly. Your "post" just made somebody somewhere less intelligent, Your shot in the dark explanations are an embaressment to Pink Floyd, The Wall, Fans of Pink Floyd and the guy who is saying that The Wall is about war. Honestly how could of had an entire 2nd disc if he commits sucide!? I think you should never post your nonsence about The Wall ever again, and may God have mercy on your pitiful soul. Next I have to strongly agree that The Wall isnt about the Government or america itself or anything like that. I also belive that he isnt really asking his mother these questions. Especially like: Mother do think she's good enough for me Mother do think she's dangerous to me Mother will she tear your little boy apart I think that instead of him actually asking the questions in the song, he is being told these things by his mother. And the post made earlier about how this song was about Syd Barrett's mom being worried about him is also not true. This song was wrote by Roger Waters because after his Father died in Anzio back in WWII his mother was afraid of losing Roger so she became overprotective. A lot of The Wall was based on some of Roger's life but it does have small bits about Syd, just not this song. The Refrences made to him are mostly in the film (but also in the song Hey You) but they are small. Only Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here are albums based on Syd. Feel free to bitch about my spelling errors. |
