| Delta Goodrem – Almost Here Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is about being in a relationship in which you are much more invested in than your partner they only always seem 'almost here'. Delta has told Brian that she needs to rethink the relationship, and Brian can't understand that because he asks 'haven't I always love you?' At the end of the song Brian comes to realize that he has indeed taken Delta's love for granted and that he was only 'almost here.' (used 'Delta' and 'Brian' to make it less confusing to explain; The female & male voice obviously, not in reality.) |

| I don't think the lyrics are wrong, just part of it seems to be missing from the beginning | |
| Little Birdy – Hollywood Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I know they went to hollywood to record their new album, so I think this song is about going to Hollywood and trying to work everything out, all the problems. Katy sings that she needs something to hold on to because she is giving in, but is adament that she will work it out, and sail again. Hollywood is the place that will enable her to do this. Great song from their new album :) |

| Bic Runga – When I See You Smile Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Yes this song truely is amazing. I agree with tomato-juice's explanation of the lyrics, definately about a pure love. I love the line "Could it be that you and I have the greatest love to ever be," - It is just very romantic and captures the thoughts of alot of people in love. The simple acoustic guitar arrangement also shows off the purity of Bic's voice. Simply perfect! |

| Bic Runga – Get Some Sleep Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This song is a very cheeky song: "we were waiting for the chorus to come" - It is just a very lively song and Bic seems to have a lot of fun performing it, which I guess corresponds to the line "I do believe I might be having fun." I also love how she dedicates it to everyone who is listening. |

These lyrics arn't fully correct. The second line is "Lie on the ground and think of me." I really like this song although I'm not too sure what it is about. Obviously something about being cages like birds. Perhaps a relationship where the love has died down and both people feel trapped? If this is true then the final lines, I only want you to be mine, I only want you to be free, would be conflicting and irony as though she wants both these things, they cannot co-exists. Her 'only' wants can never be fullfilled completely. I love the stanza aboout 'hiding in the eves' ... the lyrics are amazing. I think it shows how the two are disconnected, as if he is hiding from her, leaving her hanging, helpless. I also really love Bic's singing towards the end, it is beautiful. |

| Bic Runga – Gravity Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This is a lovely song :) I believe Bic is describing a night with a lover, dancing in the living room, singing to the radio etc. They feel as if they are the only two ones in the world, as it is night and everyone else is quiet, gone to sleep. They feel that they are flying, as if gravity has let them go. Bic claims that she knows that night will eventually end but she promises this man that she will try to stay with him and keep their love the same even after the night has ended. She even says that she forgets her name when she is with him, showing how affected she is. The final stanza refers to dawn and the sun rising. The traffic of the people and the world starts a new day and the lovers can hear it as the watch the stars explode/dissapear. They have to shout because the sound is so loud compared to the silent night. The sounds are strange and unfamiliar because they both feel so at ease during the night. I really love this song :) I think this is what it is about. |

| Corinne Bailey Rae – Choux Pastry Heart Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It is also "But we didn't mean the same thing, I think" ... I think :) Anyway I believe the title of the song 'choux pastry heart' refers to, like lie_to_me said, her fragile heart/love. The singer was in love with someone who didn't recipricate the feelings. Gamine can mean both a mischievious girl but also one who roams the streets. She thought when he called her that, that he was commenting on her playfulness but she comes to realise he was insulting her and it has broken her heart that she now realises that he doesn't love her the way she loves him. We can see, through the choux pastry heart, that the singer has opened herself to this man, and is in a state of fragility. She says "I cried so much I had to leave" which makes me think she is still in the relationship. She knows she has to leave but she wants to "stay right here" because she doesn't want to lose him even though she knows she doesn't 'own' him. This is how I interpret it at least :) Beautiful song. |
