| It appears to me that this song is about the frustration that exists in a relationship. When he says "back on my own it took me this long to the top of this misty mountain side you're on" it seems (to me) that he's telling that it was very difficult for him to get to be with the person he supposedly loves and then he says "but now I can see where it's all been leading to, the skulls on these walls how they're connected to you" as if scaling that "mountain" only brought him pain. It looks (to me) as if his other half is constantly hurting him by lying about herself (I suppose it's a "her") so he says that he's only half of himself and wonders if she is really his other half. Maybe this is too confusing, maybe this is completely wrong, but that's the way I feel about this song. Anyway this is my favourite song from from AYWKUBTTOD - one of my favourite bands. "If I was the Sun you'd be the World I'd shine onto" is a beautiful line indeed. I used to send messages containing that line to my girlfriend almost every day. | |
