I'm pretty sure that when he says "green" in this song he means naive, inexperienced, etc. I don't think it has anything to do with jealousy. "She" (whoever she is) is telling this inexperienced boy how painful love can be. "When she goes, just let her go" to me is sort of a way of saying just let it go, save yourself the hurt. |

it sucks when you read someone else's interpretation and it makes so much more sense than what you thought the song meant haha.. i interpreted it as being about having your boyfriend/girlfriend/whatever cheating on you, and you knowing about it. he/she acts like this person is his "friend" but doesn't know that you know the truth..or that you suspect. anyway.. thats just how i interpreted it..but that might have had something to do with my situation at the time haha. anyway, it's a beautiful song, makes me cry every time i hear it.. |
