I can see the religious undertones too, and I can also see how this can be about a relationship between two friends who have started to fall for each other. Oddly for me this song reminds me of the relationship between Josh Lyman & Donna Moss on "The West Wing". :) Some of the lyrics fit EXACTLY to things they went through those 7 seasons before they finally got togther. Here's some of the storylines that match up: "I see you there, don't know where you come from Unaware of a stare from someone Don't appear to care that I saw you and I want you What's your name 'cause I have to know it You let me in and begin to show it We're terrified 'cause we're heading straight for it, might get it" - This fits when Donna showed up at the Bartlet campaign and Josh found her in his office talking on the phone. They didn't know each other and he ended up hiring her as his assistant, but you could tell he was attracted to her at first. You been the song playing on the background All along but you're turning up now And everyone is rising to meet you, to greet you - This reminds me of Josh's connection with music and how he associates the loss of his late sister and his early feelings for Donna to "Ava Maria". Then the last line about them working in the White House and how they are imporant figures in politics and the world. Turn around and you're walking toward me - Them working in the White House and the constant walk & talks from the show. Donna surprized Josh a lot of times just like this. I'm breaking down and you're breathing slowly You say the word and I will be your man, your man - This could fit partly with Josh's PSTD from the Roslynn shooting and finding out how Donna "wouldn't stop for red lights" if he was in an accident. Say when and my own two hands Will comfort you tonight, tonight Say when and my own two arms Will carry you tonight, tonight We're coming close and then even closer We bring it in but we go no further We're separate, two ghosts in one mirror, no nearer - This would fit how it took 8 years for them to finally be together. Plus, the 2nd Inguration Ball where Josh realized his feelings for her, but they didn't act on it. Later on if it turns to chaos Hurricane coming all around us See the crack, pull it back from the window, you stay low - When Donna's car was bombed in Gaze in Season 5 and Josh rushed to get to her side. Say when and my own two hands Will comfort you tonight, tonight Say when and my own two arms Will carry you tonight, tonight Come across you lost and broken You're coming to but you're slow in waking You start to shake, you still haven't spoken, what happened - This would fit the scene in Germany when Donna woke up from her surgery and Josh was there to help her. They're coming back and you just don't know when You want to cry but there's nothing coming They're gonna push until you give in or say when - This could either fit during the MS investigation and Donna's dating the lawyer scandal, or when Donna came back to work after the bombing and eventually quit her job. Now we're here, and it turns to chaos Hurricane, coming all around us Double crack throws you back from the window, you stay low - Either the Gaza boming or the Roslynn shooting. It all began with a man & country Every plan turns another century Around again, another nation fallen - How they met during President Bartlet's campiagn and him winning and the everyday workings. Maybe God can be on both sides Of the gun, never understood why Some of us never get it so good, so good - Josh getting shot at Roslynn and how he's lost almost everyone in his life like his sister, father, and eventually Leo. Some of this was here before us All of this will go after us It never stops until we give in - The first 2 lines being about the government and how it was there before them, and it'll still be there after their jobs in the White House are done. The last line about them finally being able to be together and it wouldn't cost them their jobs. Say when and my own two hands Will comfort you tonight, tonight Say when and my own two arms Will carry you tonight, tonight Say when and my own two hands Will comfort you tonight, tonight - The the courses could fit with each hug and kiss Josh & Donna evantually share. :) |

| The Fray – You Found Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |

To me this song means so much. I struggled with depression and anxiety for 10 years, from ages 11 till 21. I lost many friends, situations didn't work out, brutal teasing, and I felt very alone. That changed Christmas of 2007, when I got saved again by God. I still have days where my anxiety or sad thoughts will come, but it's much easier for me to use my faith in God to combat it. To me the overall song is about that anger and envy feelings you get when God finally comes to help, but you wonder why it too so many years. Never realing the struggles you go through end up making your faith get stronger. Just like what Jesus did and took all the sins for us on the cross. Like the line "Where the West was all but won." When Jesus died, his hands on the cross represent his saving us and how far the East is from the West, his scarred hands. The girl in the 2nd verse represents the loved ones lost or gone from your life during this time. The ones who got you and could have helped you through this. It's actually a hope filled song, wrapped up in the feelings of anger at wanting God's grace and mercy sooner. Because the sinner was FOUND. He's just human and wanted it sooner. ;) |

| Collective Soul – Needs Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| To me, it's about being a Christian and saying that you don't need anyone in your life excpet God. He'll always take care of you cuz he loves us. It's starts out with worrying, but eventually realzing that God is all we need, and we need to be worry free. :) Really relates to me being saved by Jesus. | |

I always kind of saw this song as being from Jesus' POV. Maybe it's with me being a Christian, but I seem to find religious meanings for majority of Collective Soul's songs. "Complicate this world you wrapped for me I'm acquainted with your suffering" This could be Jesus speaking to God in the first line with how God sent his Son to this world to help us. The 2nd line is about how Jesus understands our sufferings and can help us through them. "And all your weight It falls on me It brings me down And all your weight It falls on me It falls on me" That's pretty much what we should do as Christians. Give our worries to Jesus, and he'll take care of them for us. "Hold me up to all whom you've deceived Promises you break you still believe" This pretty much says that we should hold Jesus up and speak of him to non-believers. It will help spread the Gospel. Then even if we are sinners, Jesus will forgive us if we ask and decide to change. |

| Taylor Swift – Teardrops on My Guitar Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song totally fits when I was in high school. I really was in love with this boy, and he was dating someone else. We were friends though, and I didn't want to loose that. I killed me watching them together, when I wanted it to me and him. I love this song so much. | |
| Taking Back Sunday – Liar (It Takes One to Know One) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I don't know if this is true, but I've heard that the tv show Lost inspried this song!!! If you watch the video the girl in it kind of resembles Kate, with the toy airplane and the key to the safe!!! Plus the lyrics fit the castaways!!! | |
| Underoath – Writing on the Walls Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I really like this song and Underoath!!! I agree about this being about God, but I've also heard it being about a relationship. Then I've heard another view that hasn't been posted on here yet. I've heard that some of the members of Underoath are huge fans of the TV series "Lost" and some of the songs on their new CD were written about the characters. If you take "Lost" with the lyrics, it actually fits. My guess is it could have been written after season 1. It fits all of the "Lost" characters, but mostly Jack and Kate. The 3rd episode of the series "Tabula Rase" was about Jack finding out Kate's a fugitive. And at the end of the episode they are sitting together on the beach and talking about starting their lives over on the island and that their pasts are gone. They all get new lives. The lyrics to this song seem like what Jack is talking to Kate about. | |
