| I think you guys are totally right. Maybe his rants about him being called outside are suggesting that the woman thinks she is in darkness, hence the reason for the candle, even though the sun is up. And for her to call him outside so that he can show her true light. Not sure what Aaron means with the "people and the devil say" however. I like the idea of the ark, I saw the video too, which I thought was great, and I am sure it is related to this in some sense. Perhaps to portray man's twisted way of thinking that building an ark is absurd because there are no signs of rain, even the a bigger light, God, has told Noah there would be a great flood. Noah's warned them many times and he just wants them to ask him. Maybe i'm diving too far in but I think it's some hint towards what Aaron is trying to say. Anyone have ideas about the green eyes, cocaine, television, 2 miles, elegant blinds (that whole paragraph)? I get lost in that. Thanks. | |

| as i listened to the song yesterday i was singing it and kind of picturing it in my mind and i said aloud. flood! is it flood? stick figure dangling from stop light grave. picture that in a flood today. it's obvious people died in the flood with Noah, maybe this is a targum for that in our days. and doomsday stomp from the skies... rain? could it be? perhaps. something to think about. could be completely wrong but i thought i'd throw it out there to see if it sparks any more genius that i have already read here. | |

So close ominousoat, this song is about a man who has his hand on a burning hot furnace, stove if you will, and having a straight face and not even noticing the heat because he is so focused on the Lord. The furnace being that of the devil and his many temptations. I often times encourage myself with this song when dealing with lust because as a Christian I must be so focused on the Lord to be able to defeat the devil and his schemes. I don't believe this song is about salvation however, just because of the hand thing, how does that fit in? I think these are all intertwined about one man to ultimately give the extreme example of obedience to God. QUIET!!! IT'S 4 AM!!! ... love it. |

here's some corrections on your guesses: "they should have come up to my knees but they were maybe ankle high" "sweeter than any wine and as bitter as mustard greens" (one of my favourite lyrics) and yes lyrics do matter when praising our God, if you're just yelling out random words that make no sense what will they mean to you? i like to take the lyrics, keep them in my mind and think about them when i am singing along and wonder how this pertains to our Lord. i think we all can learn so much about Jesus Christ from mewithoutYou, He is all over their lyrics and it blows my mind how deep they are. |

| this song is incredible, especially the harmony part... i think that's hilarious. i actually debated breaking into the storage room and stealing the cd a couple days early. You did a great job figuring out the lyrics to this song but as I listened closely I heard these words... As I watched 6 steps off (watched 6 steps away, because it says "no one can see me") So that the perpetually plain... That's what I hear, I didn't hear claim or anything like that. The almighty one does not descend... I don't think it's defend. I guess we can all find out soon for real! But until then, this is my opinon, feel free to critique. Beautiful song nonetheless. mewithoutYou is by far my favourite band and the lyrics, poetry, chemistry is indescribable. |

Any idea what this is from? "what unseen pen etched eternal things on the hearts of humankind - but never let them in our minds?" I don't remember seeing it in the Bible anywhere and haven't been able to find it. It sounds like a question to God about who how He created us and never letting us know how He did it/never letting our minds even comprehend it. But my main question is where is it from? |
