I think this song is clearly about Hurricane Katrina. "Al this time We wait on this shallow line For a martyr to save our lives when you can't. A warning sign A lack in reaction time Mixed with a war to fight keeps us here. The tide is in It's time we all learn to swim These rooftops won't save our lives and nor did you. Everything's all right." The waiting on the shallow line, a lack in reaction time, mixed with a war, and the mention of rooftops and learning how to swim all make it pretty clear what this song is about. I'm also interested in the Martyr part, this could represent Jesus. The U.S. is a very Christian Nation. "Nothing's O.K. We've been lied to. We're so frail. You can pray, Scream out his name While they all keep sinking away." The Chorus is another extremely part of this song. Of course nothing is ok, and the victims who expected help and were told they would be receiving help were lied too. The part about praying and screaming out his name also makes me believe that the Martyr mentioned in the first part is Jesus. It's very powerful. They must be wondering where Jesus is, all these people are dying and he isn't helping. "A hope a cure Reminds me this seems absurd to stay And find who you swore to save, Well you can't. Let us in, let us in we can't find shelter in time. Life is all we have. Cause everything's alright. Just keep on saying..." The Line "And find who you swore to save, well you can't" also reminds of Jesus. Jesus is suppose to be their Saviour. But in this time when they're in need of dire saving...where is he?? "All this time's gone by, the taste of revenge. A blood thirsty grin, it's all O.K. Nothing's O.K." I'm not really sure what this part is about. If any one would like to clear that up. It could have something to do with the hatred towards the government and they want revenge on them, for not helping them. The following part is simply beautiful and powerful. The final parts of the song also relate to the whole Jesus thing. "You can pray while they all keep sinking away." Again you can pray all you want, but Jesus is not there. "A hero won't come in time. A martyr won't save our lives. He can't." The victims have no Saviour and have no help. |

| Alexisonfire – My God Is A Reasonable Man Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| hahha "ok ok chill" I didn't realize I was the individual who said "dum fuck." Maybe this is a case where you should take some of your own advice. You also sounded very confident for someone making an assumption. Oh well better luck next time. | |

| A Static Lullaby – Static Slumber Party Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think this song is basically about a relationship built on lust and physical love only. There is nothing more. | |

I think this song is about bringing religion back to a personal level. Religions like Christianity and Islam cause a breakup in the human race. They teach people to judge and there is only on right way to live, which is completely wrong. You can clearly see that this song is talking about making sure religion and politics aren't mixed. Things like same sex marriage come to mind. We has people have to be less judgmental and learn to accept and respect people for who they are. We shouldn't let a book that’s hundreds of years old tell us how to live our lives. The belief in a God is a personal choice and we shouldn't be shoving it down people’s throats. Organized religion is what’s destroying the world and I think its time people did something about it. We can't be this foolish, the world is in trouble and us as humans are doing nothing but aiding in its destruction. Also I am very impressed with the improvement Alexis made lyrically with Crisis, there song has a lot more meaning and the sound is still fucking amazing. This has to be one of the most passionate bands out there, they love doing what they do and I think they've realized how many people they can actually reach with their music. |

This song is cleary about christianity. But it can be taken in many different ways, this is mine. "It was the perfect night then you had to go and ruin it with a kiss now I'm trapped inside here the innocence we held once so carelessly has been suffocated in this breathless moment" --this is obv about Judas betraying Jesus and giving him over to the Jews/Romans. The Chorus is to me Jesus talking to us "Believe in me and I will believe in you You're asking of me everything so I'll give it all to you" --its really Jesus saying believe in me and my father and we'll believe in you(take care of you) and we asked for a saviour and he gave his life to us. With the next couple paragraphs the person is praying to God asking God to help him/her but Satan interferes and the person falls into temptation. The following the person is very confused "mind is screaming" he can't understand the whole cycle of life and is very discourgaged by the idea that we are just a coincidence. The end of the song sums it perfectly the person is completely lost and he/she wants the truth. "Where is the fuckin truth?!" |

| AFI – Who Knew? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it has something to do with the loss of faith and/or spirituality. Davey doesn't seem to think its bad, he may have had some sort of realization. Realizing how fake churches and religion really is. | |
