Katatonia – Leaders Lyrics 17 years ago
i always thought it was "I have sewn my wings to come here"
i think that would be much cooler

Basement Jaxx – Where's Your Head At Lyrics 19 years ago
tranceQueen - considering the most powerful psychedelic drug known to man, DMT, resides inside our own brains as a neuro-transmitter, released when we sleep, and when we die, i think it's safe to say that life itself is 'definitely drug related'

in more standard terms, i don't see this song as drug related. although perhaps drug-inspired. the incomprehensible maze is life. but don't go insane trying to figure it out.

it asks what are we doing with ourselves, with our world?

i think the lyrics posted here are wrong. it always sounds like the lyrics go "we can't LIVE ON, LIVE ON, without you" instead.

i think the music video is intended to be f_cked up, makes you think - what are we doing playing gods?

Pendulum – Through The Loop Lyrics 19 years ago
lost in life, searching for meaning, running in fear from evil and death.

we are very un-enlightened as a people.

it has been said that in life, we drive forward into the future using only our rear view mirror.

Pendulum – Hold Your Colour Lyrics 19 years ago
you're right ashes.
it sounds like the lyrics are missing a line over and over that says something like:
"push in the knife and, open your eyes"

it may be my own perception, but this song, as with the few other pendulum songs that i know, seems to be oddly positive about a deeply negative realization about life.

i interpret the following verse in a negative light.

"Don't try to save yourself,
The circle is complete"

i envision the subject is "outside of the circle" and cannot enter, ever. it's like he's kicked out of heaven, fallen from grace. it reminds me alot of SPIRAL, no one can save you now.

although i can certainly see how it could be taken as positive advice for the subject, because maybe he is already "inside the circle", he's already in grace, so he shouldn't struggle.

I wonder who "we" is , in the line "we're reaching out".
it makes me consider whether the whole song is simply about someone with a drug overdose/addiction , although i believe pendulum to be much deeper than that.

Mastodon – Capillarian Crest Lyrics 19 years ago
Like alot of mastodon songs, capillarian crest is somewhat vague but has a sense of deep meaning. I can't peice together one meaning for this song. It's a mix of large universal concepts and personal physical struggle, at times we are almost inside the body. I see a very spiritual journey here actually.

On one hand they use extremely physical and material words "capillarian" (tiny blood vessels) & "carnate" (meaning to manifest in flesh). these completely constrast with phrases like "universal dreams" "unseen essence" etc.

I agree with serge, and it does fit with the album, because the whole album isn't just about "climbing a mountain" its a whole journey, mind body soul.

The last lines to me just screams of spiritual journey:

Take away the anchor
Amplify the mystery
Inhale the earth and wind
Map out the plans to our test

it's about breaking free from all the crap holding us back as humans, truly living, and seeking out the mysteries of our universe and the meanings of our lives.

The Killers – Replaceable Lyrics 19 years ago
this is one of the best saddest songs i've ever heard. if youve ever been cheated on you can relate to alot of the pain portrayed here. the almost trembling voice is one of the things about the song that makes it pluck that string deep inside you, its more heartfealt. i think the rougher demo recording definately ADDS to the genuine quality of it.

"What distinguishes normal people is that we share a metaphorical dagger: the concerns of our self-reflection. With this dagger, we cut ourselves and bleed; and the job of our chains of self-reflection is to give us the feeling that we are bleeding together, that we are sharing something wonderful: our humanity. But if we were to examine it, we would discover that we are bleeding alone; that we are not sharing anything; that all we are doing is toying with our manageable, unreal, man-made reflection." -Don Juan
