| The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Castles Made Of Sand Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
read jimi's biography.
first verse is about his mother and father always fighting, drinking, breaking up and causing a scene to all the neighbours as was frequent in his childhood.
second verse is about jimi's own childhood, he used to run around the woods where he lived pretending he was an indian chief as was his heritage (his grandmother used to teach him about native americans and how his family was descended from them)
third verse is about his mothers death from a ruptured spleen, brought on by heavy drinking. he always considered his mum as an angel and how she was almost worn down by his father and by life itself etc.
castles made of sand, just a nod towards the timelessness of everything. good song made better by knowledge of the context it was written in. |

i don't think it's as complicated or specific as a song about terrorism. I think it's just a song about feeling your age and wondering what happened to school days and having no worries. simple as |

think it's the same as a lot of songs from the 70's period. absolutely amazing song, beautiful, BUT non-sensical rubbish at the end of the day. the best songs are written like that though i suppose |

i laugh hysterically whenever this song comes on my ipod. oasis at their worst is ironically oasis at their best, i can't get enough of it. no idea what the lyrics are about, probably just inane babble |

think it is a joke song tbh. either that or its using the term "sister" in that whole "we're all brothers and sisters" sense. |

To me, its not about fakeness or anything in that sense. It's either simply enough about an imaginary girl that a guy wants to be with, someone just made up but who's perfect and the sadness of not being able to find her.
OR
it's about the love of a guy's life who is with another guy, a bloke clearly not good enough for her who is a "cracked polystyrene man". "If I could be who you wanted" |

You can get this song on the album "Do It Yourself". I would highly recomend this album. Title is copying the beatles "Happiness is a warm gun" (a penis is a warm gun) Use the same rule here. As for the lyrics, it's mostly about John Squire's bust up with former friend and bandmate Ian Brown. |

"Did I ever tell you that you shook me to the bone
When all you did was be yourself" Something I've wanted to say for so long but never found the right words. Why isn't this song more famous? It's superb |

I'm pretty sure this song isn't actually about anything in particular, however it clearly has drug references. It's just typical Oasis really, classic music, classic solo, classic melody, and lyrics that look like they mean something but in truth, don't really. |

This song means the world to me, absolutely adore it. The solo is so simple but really really effective and just makes the song stand out to me. Song pretty much speaks for itself, just be yourself and 'live the dream' |

This song is about Noel's panic attacks when he was hooked on drugs. Basically about wanting to get his life back on track "If there's a god would he give another chancer and hour to sing for his soul". The whole album was written at a time when Noel was quite depressed etc. and about drugs etc. |

This song is absolutely amazing. Lyrically I think it's just about childhood memories "We lived in a dogfish eggcase" and it's just metaphors about what you think about you're past etc. Musically, who cares it sounds f***ing amazing. |
