"The curse stops here." it's like breaking the chain, breaking free of the connection between the two deaths which i assume are caused by drug addictions. it ends with him. |

I agree with kneekah. At the risk of sounding harsh - if you're incapable of understandign this song past it's simplistic meaning, at least have the curtesy (I can't spell haha) to not judge those who can. I like A.I's interpretation. it's pointless looking for world peace untill we can recognise our own insecurities and inner turmoils. When we can love and accept ourselves we won't feel threatened by differences. I havn't come ot a conclusion with what i think yet, however there are parts that I find enough meanign in to relate to. |

| Missy Higgins – Dancing dirt into the snow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
‘Cause you’re dancing dirt into the snow while others look at you on show. You’re dancing dirt into the snow while all around you people grow And watch you bleed. And watch you bleed. I don't think the song is about sexual abuse, but i think the girl in the narrative she tells was at some point. She feels dirty... clumsy... watched and all her movements picked to pieces by people not necessarily out for her best interests. Dancing dirt into the snow suggest that although she is disturbing something so pristice, innocent and untouched (like what may have happened to her) she's not doign anything bad. She's not abusing anything, she's dancing. When i first statred thinking that, i thought "well perhaps dancing dirt inot the snow is a bad thing".. Well i don't anymore. She's dancing and expressed feelings that are positive, and the snow have the footprints and markings that remember that feeling. |

| Cat Power – Fool Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think it's about soem of the atrocities the world has suffered in the name of "Peace".. American politics being the drivings force. "Come along fool, a direct hit to the senses we're disconnected." Challenges how pacified we are. We're fools for being so blind. "It's not that it's bad, it's not that it's death, it's just on the tip of your tongue and you're so silent" That's saying we're suspended between speaking out about what we can see as bad, and thinking that the issues is dead. |

| Marcy Playground – Sex And Candy Lyrics | 19 years ago |

"Like double cherry pie" Family with the term - popped your cherry? Yeah this song is so about paedophiles. Perhaps it wasn'tt he artist's intention but that's where it's arrived at. Sex and candy, alluding to popped cherries... lemonade.. devious statres.. mummy. The combination is overwhelmingly screaming out child abuse. |

| Powderfinger – My Kind Of Scene Lyrics | 19 years ago |

"tell me where I'm supposed to begin move out of sight and onto some life I'm dreaming of for everything you thought you had has gone from worse to bad so I'll just wait and watch the wheels while you're turning back but it's not my kind of scene oh yeah footprints on the other side remind me where I've been oh yeah I'll watch from the other side" Basically this bit summarises what this song means to me. For me it's about beating addictions. Worse to bad basically means although fightign the addiction is hard/bad it's still better than being worse and still addicted. This guy is watching from the other side and the scar/footprints are reminding him where he doesn't want to be anymore. I think he's related it back to working till you're spent so that it's accessible to more people. |
