OK forget the other comments, i just found out the true meaning of this song, this song is dealing with life after death. it's a cycle of life, death, and reincarnation, if u watch the music video the band is performing on stage for a play, the theme of the play is life, death and reincarnation, it shows a girl and a woman in a red dress then it shows her as a woman in a red dress, she eats a red berry then dies and the man screams out in grief, then later on it shows a newborn baby in red |

This song has excellent lyrics. Led Zeppelin wrote this after a trip to Kashmir in India. After Led Zeppelin broke up Page asked Plant if Starway to Heaven was the definite Zeppelin song. Plant immediately corrected him and said that Kashmir was. Although i think i like Stairway to Heaven better. |
