: | I'm so stunned to read that people think the old albums are 'apalling'! I've liked KOL since BOTT, and I can say as a, what we're calling 'old fan' that their old stuff is amazing! Aha Shake was suchhh a good album! It's one of those albums where I like every single song. OBTN in no way reflects their real music. They are a band that wants to be big like U2, and even Caleb himself said it. He wanted this album to be successful so he made it real mainstream, made songs he knew that everyone would like, because they want to be big. I congratulate them, they deserve the fame, they make amazing music, but I just think that if you're going to call yourself a KOL fan from only liking OBTN, you aren't. Because it doesn't reflect the bands true sound. |

Anddddd this is what I think the film clip is all about, and I think you have to know about the band to realise this, but: Caleb is meant to have this alter-ego called "Rooster" which I think he turns to when he is drunk, and so with Caleb lying on the bed thing, looking possessed, its sort of like an exorcism where he is being rid of this alter-ego, hence Matt eating the chicken/rooster and Jared chasing the chicken/rooster. Breathing out the smoke is meant to show the release of his alter-ego, and I think the whole point of losing it is to show that he's grown and become mature. Maybe Matt ate the chicken because he has always been so shy and it shows that he's finally coming out of his little shell : ) Haha. Anddd I don't know what was going on with Jared slapping Matt? Hahah. Made me laugh though! And Nathan showering? Hmm, lol.
I don't think this song was meant to talk about sex, just like Caleb said in the interview that he just said "Your sex is on fire" and they thought it stuck. So it was totally unintentional. But neverthelesssss, such a gooood song : ) Very different to Kings Of Leon's usual sound, but I like it! |

I knew the melody but I didn’t know what I was gonna say and so we were in rehearsal one day, and I said “You’re sex is on fire” and I thought it was absolutely ridiculous but the other guys thought it was a hook and I was like “Come on, man, I’m gonna have to be singing about someone’s fiery sex for years man, thanks!”
Hahaha, that part of the interview made me laugh so hard!
I hate I've known Kings of Leon ever since their first album, but when this song comes out, people claim to like Kings of Leon. I know it's selfish to try keep a band to myself and not wish their success, but it really does annoy me and I'm sure any other REAL Kings of Leon fan would agreeeee
