Rufus Wainwright – As in Happy Lyrics 18 years ago
I don't it's on any of his albums, but I heard this song once while surfing his live performances on youtube. So, maybe it's still on there.

Radiohead – Down Is the New Up Lyrics 18 years ago
I think it's '180 flip flop' not 'Orwellian flip flop'.

Maybe. That's just what I hear.

Radiohead – Faust Arp Lyrics 18 years ago
What? You don't like it? It might be my favorite on the album, but yeah, it's over too soon.

Does anyone know what Faust Arp means?

should've known from the jump... not job.

Poe – Choking The Cherry Lyrics 19 years ago
I thought it was about that little voice in your head that makes you feel frustrated, self-conscious and paranoid.

"I can hear it in the hallway. It's out there laughing with its friends."

Poe – 5&½ Minute Hallway Lyrics 19 years ago
I read somewhere that this CD is not only in dedication to Poe's late father, but also a soundtrack to her brother's book. I think the book came first. Or maybe the concept. But I don't really know. :P

Poe is definitely an underrated artist. And one of my favorites.

Radiohead – Like Spinning Plates Lyrics 19 years ago
I don't know if anyone else has said this but Cloud Cuckoo Land is an allusion to the greek play, The Birds.

Regina Spektor – Baby Jesus Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's about how everyone is seeing images of jesus and mary all over the place. In a sandwhich, on a tree... in a dollar store. Everyone gets so worked up over it and excited... even the subway cares seem to be praising halellujah. And it's all very silly when you think about it.

Regina Spektor – Human of the Year Lyrics 19 years ago
I think this song is about how we are all the same, despite favoritism. Even icons are based off of the common man. She even names the character Prejektorinski, a name that seems to be a twist on the word "projector". We're all just meager humans each projected onto the other.

Regina Spektor – Prisoners Lyrics 19 years ago
I thought it was a thousand bucks too. Also, I thought she was saying, "Some day I will remember her" as in the character's mother.

PJ Harvey – My Beautiful Leah Lyrics 19 years ago
One of my favorite Polly songs. So chilling and shockingly real. Very sad. The way she drags out the revelation of Leah's suicide by counting down the months of her absence is brilliant.
