Hmm... I'm thinking there's reference to The Phantom of the Opera. Heroine's name is Kathleen, and during one song the Phantom tells her to keep singing, and sing higher. If you look at the lyrics to a lot of the songs, he does quite a bit of sweet-talking. This could be some kind of alternate-ending to the story or a different interpretation. I love the way she references literature and works and things that already exist when she writes her songs. |
