AC/DC – Rock 'n' Roll Ain't Noise Pollution Lyrics 19 years ago
The way I see it, there is a new generation of people rising up to bring classic rock n roll back into the foreground. SO many people agree on it, just look at the posts that've been made... a lot of people that say these things will go on to be musicians, go on to create this kind of music. Hell, just look at Wolfmother's "Woman".. a brand spanking new band, but already it shows that rock n roll is not dead. AC/DC are slowly workin on a new album... guns n roses' chinese democracy will be out EVENTUALLY... the song at no point states that rock n roll "is gonna die" anarchist_maggot, it's just brian johnsons voice that makes it sound like "is"... but there is no doubt. Rock N Roll AIN'T gonna die...

AC/DC – Let There Be Rock Lyrics 19 years ago
I must be awful close-minded when it comes to my acca dacca, because I personally don't really want to hear a version done by anybody but them... even the version they do live these days doesn't compare with the bon scott version... basically just a witty view of the origins of rock n roll I think... I might be wrong, but I presume that that band playing at the shaking hand would be ac/dc?

The story of angus' amp reminds me of my band blowing an amp up doing thunderstruck... the two beats that go with the "thun-der!" at the start were just too much for it... we heard the thunder that day, don't you worry about that...

Bon Jovi – Hook Me Up Lyrics 19 years ago
This is probably one of my least favourite bon jovi songs... the whole song sounds very dissonant, and not pleasant to listen to... nice sentiment though, a person needing help desperately... kind of along the same line as the beatles' Help!

Bon Jovi – Edge Of A Broken Heart Lyrics 19 years ago
An insanely underrated jovi song... it's personally one of my favourites. It's fairly obvious as to it's meaning, it's just about being a step away from breaking into pieces, because the person you love is with somebody else

Bon Jovi – These Days Lyrics 19 years ago
the whole "it's better to burn out than fade away" line has been used a billion times by a billion people... personally, I love nirvana AND bon jovi, but I really don't think that jon and richie would write a reference to kurt in their lyrics... I think it's just a statement used to describe people having no fear of death in today's world, due to the increasing amount of problems people face...

Guns N' Roses – My World Lyrics 19 years ago
I think the song can be interpreted in two ways. You can either look at it the way that most people would, and see axl rose displaying his utter insanity.

Or you can view it the other way, and realise that displaying utter insanity is probably the point of it. Axl knew what he was doing when he put this on the album. There's no disputing it's a shit song when you first listen to it, of course. But I think it's more than just axl excercising his ego... I think it's a wisecrack, a stab, at the people that criticised his mental state. He utilises the industrial beat and the explicit sounds to create a feeling of unease in the listener, and thus it scares most people, and makes them say "I hate it!"... but that unease then creates the feeling of fear towards axl, and I think that's probably what he wanted. He's taking a stab at people who say he's crazy, by acting crazy.

Why else would the lines "you wanna talk to me, so talk to me" be repeated? They're used to display the fact that he's sick of critics sitting around saying "axl rose is psychotic", but not taking the time to actually look deeper into his soul.

I think overall, it's more than possible that he's going for a "maybe I am craaaaazy, does that scare you!?!?" kind of approach, just to rebel against people and piss them off. It's like the line "but I won't do that" in meatloaf's "I'd do anything for love", it's either pure stupidity, or pure genius. In the end, it comes back to your belief on one of the most disputed things in rock n roll history... is axl rose a genius or a madman?

Guns N' Roses – Used to Love Her Lyrics 19 years ago
The front cover of GN'R Lies states the following about the song "Used To Love Her- A joke, nothing more. Actually, it's pretty self-explanatory if you ask me!" Now generally, the front cover of the album gives a quick explanation as to what the song is about... it's just a novelty song, designed as a joke... it's not expressing axl's desire to kill his girlfriend, or talking about a dog... it's just a funny song. It's irony, you read the title "used to love her" and you expect a break up song. Then it starts and you realise it's just a joke. Pretty self explanatory if you ask me too.

Guns N' Roses – Rocket Queen Lyrics 19 years ago
How is it possible that this turned into a debate about homosexuality and AIDS? the song doesn't make reference to either... who gives a fuck if people are gay or not? why does it matter? more importantly, what the hell does it have to do with Rocket Queen? Keep your goddamn beliefs about people's sexuality to yourself. There is a time and a place to discuss it, neither of which is here.

The sex noises heard are made by a woman, this is clear. That's NOT a stab at homosexuals or anything like that, it's just a clear observation. RUMOUR has it that the noises were made by Barbi Von Grief, but who knows... it's all just speculation... it's not something we will ever know, as it's human nature to tell lies, especially regarding sex. There are quotes from a technician, which can be found on the wikipedia site metalfairy listed, but the page also states that others have denied it. So who knows if axl or slash had sex with a woman in the studio, perhaps Barbi just came in and recorded them normally. It's something that people will keep disputing forever, and one of the best places to do this, is here. However, so as to not offend anybody or get off-topic, keep the posts about the lyrics and the recording of the song, rather than your personal views of minority groups.

Guns N' Roses – Garden Of Eden Lyrics 19 years ago
In my opinion, one of gnr's greatest songs. It however, is not "speed metal" or "thrash metal" like some might claim. If you want thrash, buy some of metallica's earlier stuff. This is simply another hard rock song, with a very fast tempo.

Lyrically, it's basically just a political rant, just axl's way of expressing how pissed off he is with some of 1991's society. It covers his opinion of music being produced ("the east coast got the blues"), racism, sex in the media... and basically just axl's desire to fight all of this by using some good old fashioned rock n fuckin' roll... and yes, the two men in the background of the video clip are Dizzy Reed, guns n roses keyboardist, and Teddy 'Zig Zag' Andreadis, the piano/harmonica player for the Use Your Illusion tour, like GNR1234 stated.

Guns N' Roses – Attitude Lyrics 19 years ago
yeah it's just about being angered by somebody... strangely, when performed live, duff screams "bitch!" towards the end... though this could possibly be something he's calling another male, the chorus mentions a "whore" being inside "that bitter brain" of the person giving attitude... possibly a reference to women abuse? I think the misfits are legends, but... I dunno... they're a fair way from Guns N' Roses in terms of style/genre... without axl's voice, the song just becomes a punk song I believe... somewhat unfortunate... but overall, a nice angry song.

Guns N' Roses – Estranged Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's just your regular "living on without a loved one" song... as previously stated, it's a trilogy, with Don't Cry being the first, November Rain being second, and Estranged the third. If you watch the videos to each, in that order, it's clear what the intended meaning is. Estranged is simply about living without the person you love, whether it's because they've passed away or left you. It states that he's "jumped into the river too many times to make it home". I guess this is probably just your typical mourning behaviour, doing things that dig your hole deeper, and then later regretting them. Fantastic song, although probably dwarfed by it's big brother November Rain, in the mainstream musical world at least.

Guns N' Roses – It Tastes Good, Don't It? Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree with forthoseabouttorock, as much as I love gnr, perhaps axl should stay away from rapping. Horribly explicit lyrics, which I believe is performed live during Rocket Queen instead of having the standard sex noises... it adds another dimension to RQ I think. The protagonist claims to be young, but not naive.. but still does come off as being a little bit of a masochist. This rap adds a more adult feel to him.
