personally, i love metric's lyrics so much for they appear to be so open to relation from the listener. I find their "stadium love" to represent an ultimate achievement of peace, and we personally can decide what kind we are looking for. for me, this song reveals all the frustration with the shit that drama and competition brings to our lives between all the mixes of people that we know. "every living thing pushed into the ring"--all these problems are going to be thrown together and finally solved.. and "guess you thought you could just watch?" reflects everyone who won't own up to their faults--the by-standers that sit back and just watch the show.. "no one's getting out without stadium love" reflects that everyone must make and effort in order to ultimately achieve peace among one another. I think Stadium Love is open to us for each of us personally--me being all the drama in my life, just wanting to throw it all together, forget the mind-games and just fkng solve it. To others, it may be something different. |

| OH-MY-GOD fell in love with this song FIRST TIME I HEARD IT it's simply amazing u dont understand i feel in love, thats all im listenen to.. so i went on YOUTUBE today, and i search "Your Ex-Lover's Dead"... dont i find this HARRY POTTER VIDEO... me, loveing HP and every1... it was so awesome the video, if u like harry potter, watch it, itll move you... then i get all excited to watch the ACATUAL musik video.. i got SO DISSAPOINTED:| sorry stars. musick=great.. video=waht were u thinking? i visualized it so good really and u had to do that.. come on.. it could have been so much better.. like the acatual scene of them meeting again omgsh how gret.. so AWESOME JOB/wow, that sucked job;) | |

as i said, I LOV THIS SONG its so amazing and catchy and WHY ISNT THERE MORE COMMENTS THIS SONG ROKS.. so the beginning im trying to "decode" it. so this can be interperated AS a horney song, kk listen: "thank god for gravity he replied, to a question she never asked before she made her final move" okay so thank god for gravity so they can have sex, and then it makes it more clear its abtou sex wen he sais.. b4 she made her FINAL move... so theyr moving on from boardgames NOW, the omg it can be orgasims... i donno but yeah SO the 2nd verse i havnt reallY looked at closeley lke musik that only u can hear can mean like only the love you know.. or something.. just umm yeah im sure that the first verse is definatley about SEX.. any arguments, comments concerns? |

This song is simply amazing. this sounds so fucking corney, but wen im depressed i just pop in the cd and listen to it... well not depressed but in a mood where just things are going wrong, or im thinking about graduation (ive just graduated) and leaving every1. "now your all gone got your makeup on AND YOUR NOT COMING BACK" ... most powerful line in the song, wow bss-- good work |

i read what pragmatic said and i disagree. ive seen bss live and have watched several videos of them live and those lyrics hardly ever come up. although as we all know, broken social scene likes to change their lyrics when they sing. ex. in one version amy/feist or hooeverr will sing "i told you, we'd make it, on for another i told you we'd make it on for all nighttt" orr "i told you, we'd make it on for another, i told you we'd make it, i waited, waited" this can be because they 4got the lyrics or they just are singing differant lyrics to confuse us, or they just dont care. regardless.. this was my first song ive even heard by BSS and i fell in love wiht them imediatley. this song iss sooo great how their voices overlap and feists angelic voice carries the song on. my favourite line in the song is the repeated words" we got love, and hate its the only way" cause it makes so much sence. also at the end wen they're all like i tihnkkk itss allmostt crimmmmesss!!! just makes u wana get up andd dance your fucking ass off! especcially this videoo, the way feist dances gets me so pumped. this is my ALL TIME FAVOURITE SONG BY BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE... its so brilliant. | i read every single comment here and i agree mostly with hooever said that there are multiple meanings. this is an amazing song and is proof how music can confuse so many people and make us think so much, and love it even more. i was talking to my friend about the music i like, and all she said was no one knows that and how she loves other music like shakira and things and my music sucks. well i think broken social scene is an amazing type of music, because they talk about REAL issues like religion, and life in general. what i thnk is that they wrote this song TO CONFUSE us. they knew we were going to debate about it, and i think they just want it to tihnk it means whatever we want it to. i love the meaning of god's point of view, posted by kevdoggincident. i think he/she makes an amazing point. that is what i want to believe the song is about and i will stick to that. yes, everyone else has good points but as i said, i think bss wants us to believe what we wnt to, since this song can be about so many things. | |
