Sorry the quotes I was referring to did not come through. To me, this song is about abuse. "I'm teraffied but Im not leaving, know that I must pass this test, so pull the trigger." Many times, people in abusive relationships are terrified, but they are just not ready to leave yet, for a number of reasons. So, she has to close her eyes, and just wait for the anger (the trigger) to be pulled. "And then I get a scary thought, that he's here means he is never lost" This could mean a few things. 1) that she will never be able to rid herself of him because she feels like she can never leave, or 2) that even after she leaves, she will always have the emotional and physical scares he has left by his abuse. "As my life flashes before my eyes/Im wondering will I ever see another sunrise? So many wont get the chance to say goodbye, But its too late t pick the value of my life" This is her realizing that each blow could be her last. Who knows which hit could kill her. SHe wont be able to decide if her life is worthy of being with someone who loves her and treats her with the respect she deserves. Those are just thoughts! |
