to me, the chorus is saying that we're always changing. we might realize that we used to be a way but its just about impossible to get back to the way that we used to be. the journey of life has already changed us and you cant unlearn anything. its like trying to find a needle in the dark... damn near impossible, but if you did find it, would you really want to? that could potentially be dangerous. and the whole song to me just seems like an ode to keep on keeping on. of course some bad things are going to happen. but its ok. "we can only have sunshine after the rain." change isnt a bad thing. hard times bring lessons and that brings wisdom and that is the only way we can grow. rain + sunshine = growth! the last verse is my favorite. it feels i can relate to it the most. i'm always lost in my imaginations having conversations in my head (haha). it does feel like some of us are stumbling around, not really committed to a path, but its ok. we have our ears to the ground waiting for the next thing to come. and i'm sorry, i have to say it! i'm so glad that i get to be the first to comment on this amazing song! :P |

omg. i love this song. to me it seems that the singer is tired of chasing somebody that they're interested in. when they're "haunting" they're just lingering around hoping that their interest would notice them. to me it is a desperate plea. either take me or i'm out of here. when they say... "Hey, would it be so bad if I stayed I'm just a ghost out of his grave and I can't make love in my grave I won't put white into your hair I won't make noises in your stairs I will be kind and I'll be sweet If you stop staring straight through me" to me it seems they're trying to get their interest to consider keeping them around for real. if you stop staring straight through me, i'll be good to you and i wont bug you like i do now. when they say... "And this is why I have decided To pull these old white sheets from my head I'll leave them folded neat and tidy So that you'll know I'm out of hiding And this is why I have decided To leave your house and home unhaunted" they mean that they're putting themselves out there, but they're going to leave their interest alone for now on. they're tired of the chase. i love this song. i fell in love with it as soon as i heard it. and as always, you can totally relate to this song. i think everyone can. |

this is by far my favorite song on the new album, and it has made it into one of my favorites of all time. this is the kind of song that takes your heart by the hand and you're dragged along behind it. i think we've all felt like we're living life on the run, losing out on lovin, asking for nothing running from something that isnt there. ... we've all felt that way. |

i like to think that virtute came home. she has matted fur from scrapping. she wouldnt have scrapped with the ferals and the tabby if she hadnt been outside, and she is inside being brushed after being outside... she came back! and the reason that she dosent remember the sound that was found for her is because winter took the tips of her ears. shes just sad that she cant hear it anymore. how come in her first song shes referred to as VIRTUE and now shes VIRTUTE? |

i definitely think this is about st. augustine, fl. "Silver sands of Saint Augustine" - that sand definitely isnt white! "Fire in the ground"- maybe could be refering to when the spanish burned the fort down a couple times, and then burned half of the city... "We're dancing on the poison in their graves"-i think is refering to the huguenot cemetary where they buried everyone killed by a plague. "thunderstorms so bright"- if you live in fl, you know about the thunderstorms durning the summer... ha. and "lets haunt somebody tonight" is obviously about the town being haunted. i'm thinking its about someone who wanted to leave the city and he is using history references to remind them what a cool place it is. |

sallow, i agree that this song is from the ghosts point of view. thats what i was thinking, and you just confirmed it. some of the lyrics are wrong however. he does not say "when i cant heal you" he says feel both times. and at the end its "you'll stand alone now, you'll make it somehow." amazing song. i know some bands were mentioned, anybody think they sound like copeland? i do! |
