@[swinginbecky:26463] this is how I've always heard Glory too! The singer is making out with a guy who 'should' be hot stuff by all standards. But she's realizing in the moment that it makes her feel dirty and unsexy. "You are shining some glory on me" is her attempting rationalize to herself why she isn't leaving the spot. She sings those lines with mix of desperation and defeat, like she feels trapped in the moment but still wants to feel it was a good choice (even if it ultimately is a mistake to be hooking up with this man). |
