Bob Marley and the Wailers – One Love Lyrics 16 years ago
I feel this is such a great song because it is a very straight forward song with simple lyrics but has so much meaning and truth to it. This song is so powerful, this song puts me into a peaceful state of mind whenever I hear it or listen to it.

I don't think that any of us can comprehend how at peace Bob Marley was and what his music can actually do to society as a whole. This man was brilliant and I'll leave that as a final statement.

Jack Johnson – Gone Lyrics 16 years ago
Basically this song is about how a lot of people lose themselves in the material things in life, and how they begin to define themselves through what they own but when you remove those things what kind of person are you then, and what are you left with... yourself and your soul. This song also has a lot to do with humility.

This song in particular has a lot of meaning to me and I had been listening to it for a long time and only recently have I actually been able to feel this song and relate on an emotional level.

O.A.R. – Hey Girl (Live From Madison Square Garden) Lyrics 18 years ago
If I could play some of the solos the guitarist Richard On plays... I'd probably just sit in my room all day and listen to my self. You cannot compare the originality of this band to any other band. They are some of the most humble guys you could ever meet and this is my impretion from thier interviews.

Basically you all said it... This song is about a date with a very pretty girl... Well not necisarily pretty in general but pretty to you and tha's all that matters. He sings about just having one chance to impress her and just being lucky enough to have this chance. If you could sing this to a girl then you'd

O.A.R. – King Of The Thing Lyrics 18 years ago
you know what revolution1087.... I completely agree with what you are saying. From using psychadelics it becomes difficult to find yourself and who you really are. Now from what I know about O.A.R. I don't think that they are acid users but like you said keeping in my psychadelics and readin the lyrics it does make pretty good sense.
This is by far my favorite song and I have listened to it over and over and not gotten sick of it no matter how many times consistently I hear it. I feel that this song is almost about me in a way but I bet i am not the only one who feels this.
This song is so meaningful when you listen to the lyrics and marc singing it with such passion.(sounds very gay but true) It is a very upbeat and lifting song and it says that you just need to sit and relax and not try and find yourself just let it be.

O.A.R. – City On Down Lyrics 18 years ago
This song just means that it doesn't matter who you are or where your from or who you know but we all die some day and the people you knew in your lifetime that meant everything to you will someday be there in heaven with you.

He even says this on one of the live versions(34th n 8th at the end of old man time) " this next song is our idea of no matter where you come from, and what you look like, and i dont really care, I think one day no matter what, you and yours and your friends and your loved ones will someday be together again, and that's what we wrote this song thinking about."

O.A.R. – One Shot Lyrics 18 years ago
"god give me one shot and I'll break right through, I am starting to be brand new." opening line just says everything about the song as in we are all given one shot which is life and he intends to live it to the fullest.

O.A.R. – That Was A Crazy Game Of Poker (34th and 8th) Lyrics 18 years ago
I like this song because it sets O.A.R. as one of the best story telling bands I've hard. It is hard to compare them to the early bruce springsteen and bob dylan but this song is such a good story teller. In the live versions... my favorite part is when he says "you've all got eyes two eyes just like mine." Though this doesn't relate to the song much he is saying that we are all essentially the same being that we are all humans.

I also like when he says may god be with me as a special tribute to the lord though I am not religious... Many religious fanatics such as one of the members of the band can relate a lot better than I can.

O.A.R. – Lay Down Lyrics 18 years ago
I don't think I need to say this but any Live O.A.R. song is just about 100 times better than the studio version. The reason I like this band live so much better is because they vary each song so it doesn't sound exactly the same. This song in particular is a great song that many can relate to about "You're like an angel that is just for me," most people with significant others can see that thier significant other is like they said an angel that is just for me. "so blessed angel that is just for me." I love how he relates to the girl as his blessed angel.

O.A.R. – Love and Memories (Live Version 1.19.07) Lyrics 18 years ago
"I haven't forgotten you but I damn sure have tried." Almost anybody can relate to that phrase. Another reason I love this band... because most people can relate in most of thier music other than just being a sick band to party to.

O.A.R. – 52-50 Lyrics 18 years ago
very meaningful song... I like the tone it is sung in and it presents a very good topic to sing for. "52, 50 more.... day's til I might come back from war." My favorite line of the entire song.
