| The Killers – Why Do I Keep Counting? Lyrics

I took a different approach to this song, but it reminds me of someone who is constantly sad with their lives.
And if someone "only knew the answer", they could be happy.
I don't know, maybe I'm just a pessimist, but I thought this song was a lot about feeling like dying and trying to be happy, but couldn't. |

"Though I'd die to know you love me."
Possibly the most powerful lyric. It's all about wanting recognition and wanting to be loved, but having it ripped away and not being loved in return. Pretty much what everyone else said. |

It means to me, that the person who has been perfect for you all along, is right infront of you, yet you've been searching in all the wrong places on this time. And when you finally realize that they are the perfect one for you, you find out you've waited too long and you've lost her. It's a tragic song, in my eyes. |

| Pearl Jam – Come Back Lyrics

This song is about losing someone close, or even becoming distant from someone who is very dear. The singer wishes that they could have more time with the person, and hopes the memories of that person will always remain.
It's a special song to me. |

| Billy Joel – Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel) Lyrics

This is purely a father/daughter song, it seems.
When I was little, my dad would constantly sing this song to me. He even used it as a real lullabye to get me to sleep. We could be in the car and he'd grab my hand and squeeze it, singing the words to me as I tried to understand what he was trying to say. I was young, and I didn't exactly understand.
To this day, he still sings it to me. I'm 15, and now I understand every word. It always brings a tear to my eye, it was one of the first Billy Joel songs I heard, and it holds a deep place in my heart. Everytime I hear this song, a vivid memory of my father and I in a car, while he sings, and I slowly drift to sleep. It's a memory I'll never forget. |
