Madonna – Get Together Lyrics 19 years ago
This is a really good song, and I don't think this song is about drugs. Madonna's songs on the album "Confessions on a Danc floor" are all pretty much straight forward. As much as I hate to admit it, Madonna is still a pop star, and that tends to mean she writes what she feels and not really use imagery, such as the newer alternative bands do.

I think this song is her just rationalizing her sudden attraction towards someone. She knows if you love someone so quickly, it's probably not real love.

"It's an illusion, I don't care"

I recall my first crushes, and this is how I felt towards them. I thought they would be "the one."

As far as being bitter in the start and sweeter in the end, I think that's just a reference to relationships in general. If two people can be in pain together and still love, than the pure love will be even sweeter.

The Killers – Everything Will Be Alright Lyrics 19 years ago
This is one of my favorite songs by the killers, but I have a question. Are you sure he says

"I was out shopping for a doll"?

It sort of sounds like he says

"I wasn't shopping for a doll"

instead. That would make the next two lines make more sense. Why would he be shopping for a doll if he thought he had seen them all? When he says "then you took me by surprise." it would imply he randomly saw a beautiful doll and would support the not shopping part. There's also a hint of surprise in his voice when he sees the doll.

It just seems to make more sense if he had said "wasn't shopping" instead of "was out shopping."

Either way it's a really great song. It may just be my speakers, so I apologize if I'm wrong about this.

Blue October – Into the Ocean Lyrics 19 years ago
This song made more sense to me after I listened to "Hate Me." Near the end, when he says;

"I calculate what I had done
Like jumping from the bow (yeah)
Just to prove I knew how (yeah)
It's midnight's late reminder of
The loss of her, the one I love
My will to quickly end it all"

It seems he's regretting his choice to tell the person he loves to leave for her own good, but he knows there's no going back. He made bad choices in his life, but now he regrets them. He tries to go back

"I want to swim away but don't know how"

but he realizes that he either he pushed everyone who could help away or they left him. Now he's all alone. In the end, he realizes his hopeless fate and then just gives up.

"Let the rain of what I feel right now come down
Let the rain come down

Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye)"

It's sad in the middle when he regrets his actions, but it gets lighter towards the end as recognizes his decisions and fades away. I really like this song because of the dynamic emotions involved. It's one of my favorites.
