| V V Brown – Shark In The Water Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Simply put - This song is about how she creates drama when she wants her boyfriend (or the guy she likes) close to him. Hence why she "cries wolf", talks about sharks in the water (she just wants him to be close to her) etc, etc. It's like making a big deal out of something that doesn't matter, just so that in the end, the two will be a little closer, if only for a little while. Also there's a couple of posters here that needs to stop projecting...though I suppose you can't help that, particularly with music. |

Obviously it's a song promoting peace...but the one part that stuck with me is this: "Children of Abraham lay down your fears, swallow your tears and look to your heart" At first I didn't think anything of the "Children of Abraham" bit, but then I realized that perhaps she's actually telling Israel (the children of abraham) to re-think what they're doing in the holy land. |

| As mentioned before it was not Louis XV, but Madame de Pompadour who said "Après moi le deluge" (After me the flood.) | |

Agreed to almost everything that's said... And this reminds me a lot of Army of Me by Björk. "Remaining in permanent crisis." |

Kep, I don't know what community you live in, but most people carry their own crosses. They don't make other people carry them for them. Also the lyrics that Somerandom posted are sorta off too. http://bjork.com/facts/lyrics/ there. all the bjork lyrics. |

| Regina Spektor – Après Moi Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| lol Wilhelm, not a cry for help, trust me. But I've heard people live their lives under that pretense. "My life isn't my own, I have no right to decided whether I should live or die." It's a very common religious view on suicide. (Christian at least.) | |

I think that it might also have something to do with her wanting to kill herself... "I must go on standing, you can't break that which isn't yours" That sort of sounds like something that someone really religious would say, because some people believe their soul, their body doesn't belong to them. |

| Regina Spektor – Prisoners Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Are you all sure that it doesn't say "I love the prisoners serving life sentences"? Another thing that is interesting but I have no idea how it pertains to the song is that Hans Christian Anderson was rumored to be a homosexual. He also never took a woman to his bed, and they found in his journal that the only satisfaction he had was masturbation. So who knows what the "If Hans Christian Anderson could have had his way with me" reallly means. |
