Everyone in this room They've got Troubles Too Secret Stories and Lies that We Never Knew To mw it sounds like a relationship on the edge of breaking up with one person still wanting to work things out. Sounds like the person who doesn't want to work things out uses other people and couples as an example that their not good like everyone else seems to be and so thats why she replies with I Don't Wanna be Your Favorite Enemy Not when I can be Loving You, alright Why can't it be? No Two People feel the Same Way at the Same Time It seems that these lines also suggest that she wants to stay with him even though thats not what he wants and perhaps earlier in the relationship it was the other way round and thats whats meant by no two people feel the same way at the same time. Then come the end of the song the relationship is over hence the one heart to break my heart lines. Just my thoughts on it anyways! Love the song! |

Where as there are some mentions of drugs and recovery on this album this song is definately about them as a band sticking up for what they believe in. To me sounds like a band that has become popular through means that isn't just their music and now their sick of it and they want to go back to what got them there in the first place, their music thats what i think the line "We won't be your babies 'til you take us home" is about. It like saying we don't want to be your stars unless we can create the music we want. You wanted it real But can you tell me what's real? There's lights and sounds and stories Music's just a part I think here he means the fabrication that goes into creating a band or a musician and how its about so much more then the music, thats just a part of the 'act' |

| Lots of people have said that they feel the 4am refers to something happening at that time. I think that its actually just to show how lonely he is, sort of like what shanimal cat, no ones up and about at 4am and so for him it feels like 4am forever. | I think (just my thoughts) that "The past is only the future with the lights on" basically means, things we can see that we have done, with the light meaning us being aware of it, being able to see it sort of like memories. So the future is in the dark because we cant see what happens yet. The only differance between past and the future is being able to see. Lol im finding it quite hard to explain!!! | |
