| Relient K – Forgiven Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| 6 years later.. I come back to this to note that ironically, this song is my favorite on the record and one of my favorites from Relient K in general. At the time of my original post, I was having a hard time accepting their new direction. Agreed.. "damned" is not a curse, and the imagery is not too "morbid" as I had put. Rock on Relient K! | |

Does anyone agree that this sounds like a christian theme? "There’s no place to go Where you’re not there On your rope, I hold tight But it’s freeing" it sounds like he s talking about God to me. |

This song is AWESOME! It's about how he was getting confused as to what's right and wrong and all the rules, what's black and white or grey, and he was trying to believe, but he really couldn't until he saw the love Jesus had for him. That's what it's about, although I think it was pretty self-explanitory. but it's nice to have here anyway, being songmeanings and all. |

| Relient K – Chap Stick, Chapped Lips, And Things Like Chemistry Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I can see how Marzy thinks it is a whole story, but I think it is a little too shallow to see that much into it. I think it is showing you a bunch of snapshots of his crazy life (he's always talking on his phone, he's excited about six flags, now he lost his phone, people are doing bad stuff, etc.), and then it says how all this stuff can get in the way with your relationship with God. and he asks God to help him not forget Him, b/c things can get crazy. Anyway, that's what I think. It's like a song about all of life packed into in a nutshell. |

Yeah you guys are right, they still are good. (I know that, now that I listened to "I Need You") Sorry about that other post, it was premature. Don't think just from that post that I hate the direction Relient K is going, I love it (now that I've heard more). I just didn't like that one song and was unsure if the rest was also going to be that way (with the whole "Faking My Own Suicide" I thought for sure it was the case). WishingForYou is right, it is a catchy song. And kered, yes you're right, it is not a curse word; it is in the Bible, and they probably used it to sort of shock people into realizing the severity of what they were saying. Condemned might not have done the trick there. Oh, and I can't wait for the album either. (Relient K is still and will always be my favorite band! You can see that from some of my other posts). -JHPIV |

| Relient K – I Need You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song absolutely rocks! I love it! They are crying out to God that they need him. This has to be my favorite Relient K song yet. I have felt very much this way before, so it is so cool to have a song from my favorite band that's about it. | |
| Relient K – Forgiven Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Yay, I'm the first to post! Anyway, I think this song is a big disapointment. It shows one of the directions Relient K has, sadly, chosen to take. The actual message is great, but the presentation is rather morbid if you ask me, like the part that talks about "bodies limp on the floor" which is just nasty to me. Sure, the love between them might have died, but surely there is a better way to say it. I also don't like how close it comes to some bad language in the lines "To see that you've been aptly damned." They could have said "condemned," but they didn't. I love Relient K and I always will, but this trend of unnecessary morbidity is a sad, sad thing for me, a fan who likes their upbeat pop/punk style better (Like is found on Two Lefts). | |
| Switchfoot – Ode To Chin Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think Chin is a humorous term for himself. He's saying these things to himself, and it sounds introspective instead of advice-giving-y. He's saying all that to his mind - "Think about something alse tonight." That's my take. Anyone agree? | |
| Switchfoot – Might Have Ben Hur Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This is a great song and I know exactly what it's talking about because I'm in the exact same situation right now. Every verse and every line is exactly how I feel. It's amazing they got it all correct. Switchfoot rocks! |
