| Bethany Joy Galeotti – Feel This (Feat. Enation) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| first off, i'd love to say that it's a shame that this song isn't more popular. the combination of the words, the music and the voice are phenomenal. secondly, i have a correction. the correct lyrics are: it's gotta be JUST RIGHT, soul and SPIRIT (as opposed to disguised and script). lastly, i believe that there is no one interpretation for this song, rather it is one of those lyrics that you've got to find meaning in for yourself, and perhaps more than just one meaning (because i know that for me, this song means so, so many things). | |
| Kate Voegele – It's Only Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |
To me, this song is about that person who feels like everything is taking a turn for the worse, and it's beginning to feel like there's nothing left to do but give up on it all. This song is about realizing that it's just the way life goes, and that no matter how bad it gets, it can get better. You can't be afraid of facing it, or you'll never life. And that would be something to regret. |
| *NSYNC – This I Promise You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I don't relate this song to religion (or any songs for that matter) only because I am not religious, but I can certainly see how this song could be related to God. To me, it is about a person (any person- a mom, dad, sister, brother, a boyfriend or girlfriend) who is promising to stand by you and give you back that hope and faith in yourself that you've lost (for whatever reason that may be). They're going to be that person for you because you mean the world to them and they can't imagine life without you. |
| Rod Stewart – Faith Of The Heart Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The meaning of the song is right there in the lyrics: "I can do anything". Yes, it's cheesy, but it's true enough. Faith in yourself is what really gets you where you want to be. Don't let them hold you down. |
| Nat King Cole – Smile Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| When I heard this in My Girl 2, I got up and downloaded the song right away. It took me a while to find the Nat King Cole version but I absolutely fell in love with the song... it's just so true and I only wish that a few certain people in my life would realize that 'life is still worth while if you just smile". A bad day isn't the end of the world... and it's okay to cry... but life isn't about focusing on all the shit in life. It's about doing the best you can with the hand you're dealt. I guess what I'm tryiing to say is that this song is like the old adage "every cloud has a silver lining." You just have to look for it. | |
| Shania Twain – Man! I Feel Like A Woman! Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Its not a matter of superiority. It's a matter of knowing when to just let loose and have fun without worrying about when your next meeting is or what the next deadline is. It's about forgetting about all the social expectations of a woman and just"really go wild" and "doing it in style". | |
| Jack's Mannequin – Bruised Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree entirely with the 'leaving' explainations to the song. I never actually listened to the words until I was playing the acoustic version from "Punk Goes Acoustic 2" and I actually started to cry. Now, I've never left anyone for super-long periods of time but I've left them for long enough to relate to that feeling. |
| Ben Jelen – Rocks Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The very last verse makes me think that the song is about and ended or ending relationship where at first, neither of them were sure whether it was the right thing to do and by the end of it, she realizes she still wants him as much as he still wants her (thus the last verse: Oh love, it's killing me not having it I need you to Be stronger, don't wanna hear the sound, 'Cause rocks upon my window mean that you're coming round And how could I resist when I think you're still in love? How can I move on when I wanna be in love with you?) |
| Faber Drive – Obvious Lyrics | 18 years ago |
To me, this sounds sort of like an anthem for all the kids, hell, all the people that go through life dealing with being "different", no matter what kind of different. And it's sort a slap in the face to all those people who said "[he'd] won't amount to anything" and to all those "friends" "saying she sleeps with everyone". It definitely reinforces the old adage "never judge a book by it's cover". |
| Plain White T's – Radios In Heaven Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Sometimes the simplest words mean the most. You don't need metaphors and complicated plays on words to write the perfect song. |
| Faber Drive – Second Chance Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Looks to me like a simple case of "I had you, I lost you and now I see why I wanted you now that you're gone." Regardless, I love the song. I think a lot of people have done it and regret it, but a lot of us just don't have the talent to write it down to explain just how much we regret it so poetically. Great song. |
| Teddy Geiger – Look Where We Are Now Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Rereading the lyrics, I have to agree more strongly than I did before that yes, this very well could be a love song. It occurred to me that Marsoccer88 made a good analysis. |
| Backseat Goodbye – Good Morning, Goodbye Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Looks to me that the song is about opening your mouth before you have a chance to really think things through and then realizing that maybe you don't know what you want, but you know you don't want to be without that special someone (in this specific case, probably a girlfriend) because you didn't realize you wanted her until she was gone. | |

| Bethany Joy Lenz – Halo Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think any girl who has had a boyfriend that puts her up on a pedestal like that can totally relate to this song as I have. No one is perfect- "[we] have flaws and sometimes [we] even sin". And honestly, I'd rather be expected to be myself than to be the perfect image that someone has turned me into. By the way, One Tree Hill is love. Heh. Guilty pleasures. |
| O-Town – All Or Nothing Lyrics | 18 years ago |
For me, this song isn't really a love song from one lover to another. To be honest, it's a love song from just about anyone to someone else. Yes, it is true that they sing "is it all, or are we just friends" but given the context of the song, I interpreted it a little differently. What gets me most is "is this how it ends with a simple telephone call, you leave me here with nothing at all," because I've had someone do that to me. It was this picture perfect friendship- him and I were inseparable but after a while, the phone calls just stopped coming. And so it began to seem that "'cause you and I could lose it all if you've got no more room, no room, inside, for me in your life," was more than true. |
| Shania Twain – I Ain't Goin' Down Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| While I agree that it is one of the better songs on Up!, I just can't bring myself to listen to it anymore- not after both my mom and I started crying while going through the CD for the first time. That's us to a tee. | |
| Shania Twain – If You Wanna Touch Her, Ask! Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It's not really "creepy". The song is about getting to know a girl before "making a move" on her... show her that you can be friends- that you listen, that you can at least try to understand. A man who respects a woman is gonna get the girl... especially if he knows it isn't all going to happen over night. | |
| Brian McKnight – Back At One Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I would have to say that the song is fairly self explainitory. When he was just about ready to give up finding someone to love and share his life with, he found a great girl that he is certain he could and will do his damndest to spend his life with. And yes, I think all of us single girl wish we had someone to slow dance to this with. |
| Ryan Cabrera – Shame On Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Agreed, but he's also noting that he does listen to her, but now that he's gotten to know her he finds her irresistable. Which is how it should be... | |
| Augustana – Boston Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I can guarentee whatever I'm about to say has already been said in one way or another, but that's okay. For me, this song means letting go- just letting go of all the sh*t in life and looking for a new start. Not forgetting, just forgiving and moving on. I know that for me, change is possibly the worst thing in the world but I also know that it is more than necessary to change, even in the slightest way just to grow a little bit. And I think the girl that the song is about knows that too-- she's so sick of being with the same people day after day and dealing with them and their issues without being able to truly deal with herself. That, and she feels like none of them really know her for who she is. She just needs to start over, see something new where no one knows her name and it's okay for her to be herself. |
| Frank Sinatra – I've Got You Under My Skin Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This one needs little interpretation. But it is still an excellent song. By the way, it's "sacrifice". |
| Nat King Cole – Mona Lisa Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is definitely one of my favorite Nat King Cole songs. The way I see it, Mona Lisa is being used as a specific example of a general topic. If that makes sense at all. If it doesn't, what I mean is that the general idea is that this girl is mysterious- she's always smiling, but no one can really put a finger on why. Is she smiling to tempt a lover? To hide a broken heart? Is she being real or is she faking it? But he's making this generalization with the specific example of the ever-popular Mona Lisa painting that no one quite understands. |

| Teddy Geiger – A Million Years Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree that the song is about an ending relationship, but to me, these lines: "Will you get over it this time And is this the last time" and "And I wish that you could give up this game" It also sounds as though this break up isn't the first one, but could very well be the last one. Sounds to me like he still cares about her but he doesn't think he can handle any more of the break up and make up relationship tha they have and in spite of all of this, he knows that she's always going to be important to him and he'll be there no matter what happens. |

| Musiq Soulchild – Dontchange Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It's supposed to be a love song, yeah, but a while ago, a really good friend and I went through this period of not talking because he got really busy with his club games and once we started talking again, we were on the phone (going on hour two or three, I think) and he told me he had a "poem" for me. I listened to him carefully and realized he was reading the lyrics to this song and changing a few words along the way. "See what I'm trying to say is I'm here to stay Baby, baby darling I swear that I, I swear I ain't going nowhere no." That's definitely my favourite section of the song. Simplistic but they still make me want to cry. |
| The Fray – Over My Head (Cable Car) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The third verse always makes me want to cry. | |
| Teddy Geiger – Hallelujah Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Definitely a wonderful line. But after a lot of further thought, I don't think it necessarily has to be about two people falling in love in a romantic way... my best friend says this song reminds him of me and we love each other, but we aren't in any way romanticly involved... its as simple as a shy girl and a guy who sees beyond that. | |
| Backstreet Boys – Poster Girl Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| A poster girl is by my mother's definition an image of perfection. So what's basically being said, is that for right now, this girl is perfect. | |
| Backstreet Boys – Never Gone Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song reminds me of my friends. Every single one of them. Each of them has, in some way, helped turn me into the person I am today. Without their influence, their guidence, there are things I KNOW I wouldn't have been able to get through without them. That's the kind of love you never forget. | |
| The Wreckers – Leave The Pieces Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I was sitting at home, listening to the radio and I heard this song come on. I had just gone broken up with a guy who did the exact same thing to me. Particularly: 'you say you don't want to hurt me'. | |
| Bethany Joy Lenz – When the Stars Go Blue Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I've heard a few of the other versions of "When the Stars Go Blue" and this is definitely my favourite. It is definite the perfect song for a duet. Not entirely sure what it means, but I have my personal ties to it! |
| Shania Twain – You've Got A Way Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Definitely my favourite love song =) | |
| Tyler Hilton – Glad Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I have to agree with megan412 =) And I do watch One Tree Hill but there was never anything between Chris and Haley. She didn't love or care for Chris in any way other than for his music. It was always Nathan. |

| Teddy Geiger – Look Where We Are Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Marsoccer88, a song might have a straight forward. right to the point kind of meaning behind it that is oh-so-obvious when you hear it (take Unfaithful by Rihanna for example) but no person is right or wrong in the way they connect with the song. Given that there doesn't appear to be a direct meaning to this one in particular, unless Teddy himself tells us what it means, we're all going to interpret the lyrics in our own way. Personally, I feel the song is about someone who slacks off and really lives for the moment and someone else who gets what needs to be done, done and only then has he/she (in this case he) earned some personal downtime with his friends. These lyrics: "You'll find that I fought for the right To laugh with my eyes till tears would fall And the salt would hit my lips" Are what make me think so... |
| Teddy Geiger – Gentlemen Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think the song is about finding and setting your own personal boundaries and discovering things for yourself. Virginity, a fast paced career and just making mistakes in general all fall under those categories. | |
| Teddy Geiger – Air Dry Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think these two lines: "Well I heard you played behind my back, Was I a fool to not react" Are a good hint towards what inspired the song. Infidelity. I love this song simply because it has that air of confidence... you know, like the first time he sees you with a new guy or smiling for the first time since you broke up... "You blew me off so easily." Its like saying, "hey, you're the one that let me go. Don't try and bring me down just because I'm happy without you." |
| Teddy Geiger – Falling Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I'd say this one is self explainitory =) | |
| Def Leppard – Two Steps Behind Lyrics | 19 years ago |
For me, Two Steps Behind isn't so much a love song. It more or less is a song about reassurance... no matter how alone you feel and how hard things seem, there is always going to be someone there for you. Just two steps behind. |
| Teddy Geiger – Possibilities Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Personally, I feel the song is more about getting rid of all your inhibitions and realizing that its okay to try new things. You know, like there's a whole world of possibilities that you just don't don't see because you've always been afraid to... | |
| Teddy Geiger – Hallelujah Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I definitely agree with both of you. It gives you that butterflies feeling when you hear it. And I believe the correct line is "with you, everything is obvious". |
