| The Jam – The Bitterest Pill Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| butterflykiss84, I am 20 and I agree that this is a great song regardless of its over the topness!!!! The Jam are one of my favourite bands, and I don't care if some people hate Paul Weller for things he is done in the past because no one can deny he is a lyrical genius and completely brilliant at what he does!! :-) | |
| Black Lace – The Mimic Man Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is amazing | |
| Black Lace – Agadoo Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I can't believe nobody has commented on the meaning of this song. It is obviously a love ballad, written by a coconut. How can anybody miss the not so well hidden meanings to these beautiful lyrics. "I met a hula mistress somewhere in Waikiki Well she was sellin' pineapple, playin' ukulele And when I went to the girl, come on and teach me to sway She laughed and whispered to me, yes come tonight to the bay" Written by a misguided coconut who fell in love with a pineapple. He tried to shake the tree, but to no avail. |

| James Morrison – The Letter Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think this is the best song on the album! The letter he is talking about is one that his (now ex I would guess) girlfriend has left for him because she can't tell him to his face that she doesn't want to be with him. And even though he knows what it says he still can't open the letter, because if he does it will draw a line under the relationship and confirm that it is over. If he doesn't open it there is still a chance in his mind that he hasn't lost her. |

| The Streets – Never Went to Church Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This is such an ace song. I love the part about God, it's so true that if you don't turn to him while life is "sailing on the calm" why should you when things get tough. I love "you left me behind to remind me of you" and "I got a good one for you, Dad, I'm gonna see priest, a rabbi and a protestant clergyman. You always said I should hedge my bets." I think its quite a happy ending to the song because he is making a joke with his dad. It's a brilliant song and it has made me cry before too! Love it! |

| David Gray – This Year's Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I wish this years love(s) had lasted! Still, the next time I fall for someone I'll be thinking the same as David is in this song... "ain't this life so sweet"! A lovely, beautiful song and one that we can all relate to I am sure. I think we are missing the point of these lines though "So whose to worry If our hearts get torn When that hurt gets thrown Don't you know this life goes on" he is saying that it doesn't matter if it ultimately doesn't last, because life continues and it means that the love wasn't right anyway... just my opinion! :-) |

| Justin Timberlake – SexyBack Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| The Jam – Town Called Malice Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I am 19 years old and this is my favourite song, ever. I think that's tribute to the song writing genius of Paul Weller! This song is just the best! I remember hearing it all the time in the car on long journeys when I was younger! It's about hardship. As mbrlr said, it's "as British as you can get" and that's part of the reason I love it so much! An excellent song, and I think I should shut up now because I think you get the idea!!! :-D | |
| The Jam – Down In The Tube Station At Midnight Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| you can't say the lyrics to this are "naff" !!!! they are pure genius. you don't get music like this anymore. I particularly like "they smelt of pubs.. and wormwood scrubs, and too many right-wing meetings" ! you don't get clever lyrics like this very often these days. Also, the queen "smiling, beguiling" is a good lyric. very british: love it! :) | |
| Warren G – Regulate Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| haha i played this song as loud as it would go in my ex-boyfriend's car just after he had broken up with me and was driving me home! bad idea, cos I love this song so now it just reminds me of that! haha! still a wicked song though! | |
