This song is actually about the death of maynards mother when he was eleven. The song is describing the state he was in. It describes how he was lost in her death. He has made songs that talk about her religious beliefs and how he resents them, but this song is talking about how his experience as an eleven year old guides him through life to make him a stronger person pretty apparent at these lyrics.
"Hold you light, eleven lead me through each gentle step by step, by inch by loaded memory, I'll move to heal As soon as pain allows so we can Reunite and both move on together"
He describes how hard it was to handle this as an eleven year old and he comes to terms with the fact and finds a deeper meaning to death.

To me this song is about trying your hardest to get someone to notice you and they understand but its just another among many. They cant truely see you for who you are because there are so many that are attracted to this person, or trying to get thier attention. Then you feel depressed and angry because you start to see who they truely are. You start to see something about them you didnt want to see, and you also see they dont have any interest in you. "But I threw you the obvious just to See if there's more behind the Eyes of a fallen angel Eyes of a tragedy" That pretty much what hes talking about. You find what they truely are and you try to get them to change thier ways, but they would never do that. Then he says "apparently nothing." To me this means that they didnt notice you, you wanted to get to know them, but they are just oblivious, while you are able to see exactly what they are......Thats what it means to me and I can really identify with this song.
