I think this song is about a girl who is in a relationship, but it isn't working anymore. They've drifted apart, and he doesn't love her anymore. She desperately wants him to pay attention to her, try to fix their relationship. He's sort of letting the relationship keep going, even though it's now a facade "fooling no one". I think maybe the ending starting with "crawl out the window" is that she has finally confronted him (with teh first stanzas) and the relatinship ends. She leaves and is trying to show him she doesn't need him anymore, but she's in shock "sleepwalking" and is numb with the disbelief that it's over. Story of my life. |

| I became so obsessed with this song when my boyfriend and I broke up. It was such a perfect song about our relationship. We were so happy, but we drifted apart, and by the time we went to fix it, it was just too late. And we were both appreciative of the time we had together, but it was just over. Sad but also very matter-of-fact and makes it seem ok. | |
