this song has nothig to do with suicide. it is about graduation. youre 17 when you relaize that its all aobut to end, and once youre gone you start over, you start a new life. and in this kids head leaving the only life he knows is suicide. he apoligizes to his mother for leaving her, cause she cant understand the he must leave. and though he feels like hes never done anything in high school, he enjoyed just wasting the time at home, and now hes losing his home. "we couldnt wait to get outside..." till theyre gone. The cord was never plugged in at all, it was all fake, now he has to leave his world for the real one.
