| Three 6 Mafia – Lolli Lolli Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I can't say I didn't expect to see comments like this, but no, this song makes no deliberate allusions to children. Sexuality, however, is another story entirely. :) | |
| Sonata Arctica – Weballergy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Jeez, this song hit close to home. | |
| Sonata Arctica – Replica Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Metaphors are a HUGE part of writing, and it's not beyond Sonata Arctica to speak of the difficulties of life as war. Anyway, I agree with RainbowDemon. Regardless of how you look at it, this song is AWESOME. |
| HammerFall – At The End Of The Rainbow Lyrics | 17 years ago |
You realize sometimes people have trouble with SM's server and double-post by accident, right? It's happened a lot, and sometimes shit like that happens. Anyway, this song is great. It's just as acetica said. |
| HammerFall – Glory To The Brave Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| A song about honoring the dead instead of lamenting them...And done right, too. Absolutely amazing song. | |
| Bad Religion – Along the Way Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Blackbird: Now THAT'S deep. | |
| X Japan – Tears Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is such a powerful song. Easily one of the greatest ever written. Yoshiki, I salute you. You are truly a lyrical deity. |
| Hungry Lucy – Stretch Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song sounds pretty obvious. It's about not letting people defeat you. It's about proving your own worth. It's about knowing you're never alone, no matter who you are. Truly a great song when you're feeling down. |
| X Japan – Kurenai (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Y'know, I knew the song was good before I looked the translation up, but DAMN. this is outright amazing. | |
| John Lennon – Give Peace a Chance Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It's all we want. It's all anyone wants, deep down. So why? Why can't we just...give it a try? Rest in peace, John Lennon, and know that your name and your music touched millions. |
| X Japan – Forever Love Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I LOVE THIS SONG. OH SO MUCH. ;_; | |
| Megadeth – Back In The Day Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Whoa-ho, out of line you say? Nah I think it was justified. ;3 I can be incorrect without being "out of line", you know. |
| Psychostick – Two Ton Paperweight Lyrics | 18 years ago |
... Psychostick doesn't sing about serious shit. They're comedy. And this is GOLD. Fucking love it. XD |
| Pillar – Frontline Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Also the fact that Pillar is a Christian rock band. >_> | |
| Pillar – Frontline Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think it's been decided: This song is about standing up against your foes, to protect what you love; not necessarily to die, just to fight. Ocelot923: The very first line is taken from the Holy Bible. That's why some people say it's about God. |
| Oingo Boingo – Little Girls Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Hah. I was expecting to see insane amounts of pedo-hating in here. Nice to see there isn't any. This song is so upbeat. It's one of those that never fails to cheer me up when I'm in a bad mood. ^^ |
| Metallica – Escape Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I definitely agree--Creeping Death has a fantastic riff. Despite my preference for the newer Metallica, this is the only Metallica album in which I like ALL of the songs. This is easily my favorite from the album--mostly because I like--I mean REALLY like--songs that depict life in a positive light. Songs that speak of living your own way, ignoring society's rules, empowering yourself, defeating your own demons... This is the music that keeps me going every day. This is the music that keeps me from giving up and becoming another sheep in the flock. Sounds emo, but that's how it is. \o/ |

| BIS – Am I Loud Enough? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
...Upon rereading it, I think my guess may have a couple of flaws in it. Rather, I think the traumatizing event from before was the fault of a certain person who wished to do him harm--as revenge, perhaps, as the mistakes he mentions may imply--but now that he's recovered, he has come back to settle the score. He wants the person from his past to hear his name. He wants the person to know that he is no longer his pawn. Another possibility is that the person had controlled the narrator for a long time--blackmailing him with 'mistakes' he'd made, but now he's become stronger, uncaring of the blackmail and willing to end it there and then. :3 |
| BIS – Am I Loud Enough? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Am I loud enough? A very good question. Definitely a song about being stronger than before. My guess is that the narrator recovered from a very traumatizing event and has returned, bigger and stronger than before. Fuck yeah. |
| Michael Jackson – Thriller Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I have always and always will stand by that Michael Jackson is innocent. That's all there is to it. This is one of my favorite songs evar. |
| My Chemical Romance – Helena Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I finally decided to listen to this song after hearing "Welcome to the Black Parade". This song bears a striking resemblance to Aiden's "The Last Sunrise". I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed but I don't have the patience to sift trough 23 pages of comments to check >_>; I like it. Woot! XD |
| Damageplan – Fuck You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Fuck you, motherfucker! This song is pure, concentrated HATE. Awesome. |
| Dark Moor – Bells Of Notre Dame Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Obviously this is about the hunchback of Notre Dame. It details how the hunchback is miserable, trapped in the towers, and how he'll never see the light of day. He is not allowed to leave because he is considered an abomination. It also shows how he has a good heart, and if those outside would accept him, he would finally be happy. The fate of the hunchback is a sad one indeed. Awesome. |
| Linkin Park – Hands Held High Lyrics | 18 years ago |
If protecting freedom means to use brute force to make everyone else conform to your beliefs and standards, then I guess I don't really know what freedom is. Amen, Linkin Park. A-fucking-men. |
| Linkin Park – Leave Out All the Rest Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Oh my god... This is fantastic. Linkin Park, keep up the good work! |
| Metallica – Thorn Within Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Damn, I didn't see this before. "For I am shadows and will follow you whatever I see in my way" is wrong. It's "For I am shadows and will follow you; one and the same are we". |
| Metallica – Thorn Within Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Guys, learn to recognize a troll, please. He wants you to get all pissed off--stop giving him that satisfaction XD This song is freaking awesome. Yes, "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned" is a Catholic tradition. When a Catholic man or woman believes they have sinned greatly, they go to a Catholic church and enter something that is called a confessional. The confessional has two sides to it--one side is where the sinner enters, and one is where the preacher sits and listens. Normally, the confession starts with "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned." Priests in Catholicism are referred to as "fathers", and nuns "sisters". As for the song, well, it's pretty much as friskitty says. The man is feeling guilty for his sins. He knows it is natural, but he also knows it is wrong. Great song--highly underappreciated. Rock on, Metallica. |
| Dr. Reanimator – Move Your Dead Bones Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Amen! XD | |
| Blind Guardian – Dead Sound of Misery Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I can't decide. Both are so awesome. | |
| Blind Guardian – Another Stranger Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Dammit lag. First line should be "Seed of doubt". I've also made sure I checked all lyrics before submitting. Also, this place needs an edit button, but this isn't something I haven't said before. XD |
| Blind Guardian – Another Stranger Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Also, where you say "Alone at night but somehow"... that should be "Holding back, but somehow". Also, edit button, kill, etc.... |

| Blind Guardian – Another Stranger Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Savage_Dash_8 is correct, and so is Rodyle. Also, Rodyle: If you got your name where I think you did, then you win because that game RULES. This song holds a special place in my heart because I, like most people, have a side of myself that I do not show to others--a side of myself I'm sure I will have to confront someday. Pah, that sounds really cliche. XD |
| Blind Guardian – Carry The Blessed Home Lyrics | 19 years ago |
First comment wtf I think it's about a man who was manipulated and tricked into bad deeds, but still manages to do what's right in the end. I have no idea what it was actually written for, but that's how I interpret it. |
| One Side Zero – A Point In Time Lyrics | 19 years ago |
No comments? This is the first song by these guys I heard, from a PSU vid. I like this song because it seems, to me, to portray both sadness and happiness at once. I can't give any details, because I don't really have any. I just feel an air of happiness and grief at the same time whenever I listen to this song. Also, the "more" on the fourth line isn't really there--it's more of an "oh". |
| One Side Zero – Instead Laugh Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I only recently found this band, and I was overwhelmed by just how good they are. One Side Zero are unique. They have their own style--mellow and melodic, but at the same time hard and fast. Downright fantastic. |
| Black Sabbath – The Wizard Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I've not heard much Black Sabbath, but this is pretty damned cool. I'm feelin' the Gandalf argument more than others here. =/ |
| Blind Guardian – Fly Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Mmm, very awesome, second-best song on the album in my opinion. Kinda like Turn the Page a bit more. :P |
| Blind Guardian – Otherland Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I'm just about to start reading that series! :D | |
| Nick Kershaw – The Riddle Lyrics | 19 years ago |
LAWL. I thought this site was about what songs meant to US rather than what they were actually meant for. But then, I could be wrong. In any case, this song is awesome. I first heard it on AMV Hell 3 and it's one of my favorites now. :D |
| Nightwish – Crownless Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I second "ItTakesAShoob"'s question. Who is the Riddler? Tuomas mentions the Riddler in several songs, and there is, of course, the one dedicated to The Riddler. =/ | |
| Nightwish – Dark Chest Of Wonders Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This was my first Nightwish song, and I completely agree with the entire Pandora's box idea--makes perfect sense. Awesome! |
| Megadeth – Back In The Day Lyrics | 19 years ago |
(This place needs an edit button.) Also, if you're going to flame a Metallica fan for simply praising Metallica here in the Megadeth section (even if he's also commenting on the song or people who commented on it), you're not saying much for the general population of Megadeth fans. =/ |
| Megadeth – Back In The Day Lyrics | 19 years ago |
LULZ. Way to back up your points, boys! Insults and profanity will ALWAYS win, amirite?! Seriously, though, I'm serious. The old stuff WILL get old and you'll end up hating it if you don't give new things a try. |
| Godsmack – Livin' in Sin Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Bast1981, that doesn't make any sense. Not only are there no lyrics pointing to pedophilia, but seeing one little girl and being attracted to her would not drive an otherwise healthy, happy guy to suicide. That said, awesome song, Godsmack! |
| Foo Fighters – Best Of You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"I was too weak to give in Too strong to lose" This is my favorite line in the entire song. :3 To thereisonlytruth: I can't fully agree. I never believe posts like that. =/ It may fit, yes, and I agree entirely that it is extremely similar--but a lot of love songs have the possibility to fit the war, if only because the US and Iraq actually are currently going through an "abusive relationship" (the US being the abuser). bah...that probably doesn't make much sense. Forgive me XD;; |
| Simple Plan – Grow Up Lyrics | 19 years ago |
GET THE HELL OUT, YOU FUCKING TROLLS. I CAN relate to this song, because being an adult stinks. People who think skepticism and apathy are "mature" simply don't know what fun is. I like to have fun, and I am impolite and I do make fun of everyone--but that's part of who I am. If that makes me a baby, then give me my pacifier, fuckers. |
| Nightwish – The Kinslayer (feat. Ike Vil) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Wow. I knew it was about the Columbine massacre, but you guys really put it into perspective--especially you, PoisonedUnicorn. Wow...I honestly have nothing to say now, other than...wow. |
| Metallica – Invisible Kid Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Oh yeah, the meaning thing... I can only really relate to it when my sister is bitching about how I "do nothing around the house". =3 Other times, not really. It's still a cool song. I should really get a new St. Anger CD...mine broke *cry* |
| Metallica – Invisible Kid Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Sometimes I wonder if half the Metallica fandom TRULY hates the new Metallica and St. Anger or just jumped on the "new-Metallica-sux" bandwagon. St. Anger is good--there's no doubt about it. I mean, so what if this album is angry? ...And Justice For All was their angstiest album, and nobody got pissed at that. Just give the new stuff a LISTEN and don't LOOK for the flaws, and you'll see songs like Ronnie and Slither are awesome. |
