I think the last paragraph on here is wrong, rather than saying "A classless Society?", to me it sounds like "A class led Society?".
Though that is just my opinion. Same change in the 3rd paragraph.
As for the song as a whole, it seems to be talking about an escape from something that is deemed to be rather fabricated, fake. This is especially prevelant with the line "A plastic society?". |

Such a great song, on a brilliant album.
This song, to me, is about someone who seems to be bi-polar, going from happiness to sadness in a glance, and having that cycle repeat over and over again. Until they meet this one person, and that person allows them to just be happy, giving them hope more than anything. |

The way I see it is that this guy feels that he is underappreciated, ignored, unnoticed/ So much so that it has driven him to think that if he can find someone to spend a night with everything will be ok. |

I absolutely love this song, it is the only one I have heard by Chris Bell and by far one of my favourite songs.
The meaning is fairly simple, it is about jealousy in a relationship, whether it is due to the woman in it having an affair or whether it is simply based upon paranoia I have not worked out. |

This is such a beautiful song, and very typical of the style of songs done by Kate Rusby.
The song is about leaving everything behind, specifically to go to Botany Bay, Australia. Whether this is a voyage of exploration, or referring to a prison ship taking exiles to Australia I am not sure, though I am inclined towards the latter due to the melancholy present in the song. |

I saw this as meaning that people always see advancements as something shiny and new, and thus it is the culture to clad these items as such, in this case, chrome. And naturally these things lack a true essence, and are just a facade. |

I'm shocked that no-one has commented on this song. If you didn't know it is a hidden song on the Ether Song album, after Rain City.
It is a lovely song, and to me, it means that no matter where you go there is always something positive around you, and that you just have to learn how to look for it. |
