i fucking hate how this song is completely associated with Twilight. Way to lessen its meaning. Its a well chosen song for Twilight (because a vampire's identity is tied to the need for blood), but it wasn't made for the movie! It is talking about addiction, I would assume of drugs. But I suppose it could be any compulsion. I feel like the addiction is personifed in the song: "I won't soothe your pain....and just in time/ in the right place/ suddenly i will play my ace"- the addiction only takes from the addict. Addictions are always in control of the addict. This song is about fear, temptation and power of the things we are addicted to. |

I like the line "A circle is complete/another circle begins". It reminds me of 'the wheel is come full circle'; the circle or wheel, is life's fortune, which is always turning and changing. like what everyone else already said, this song is talking about love and how it just happens you cant control it, as kanye said: ' we just happen'. such a beautiful thing. i think its saying how love changes the way you think and can change things in your life. now i especiallly love kanyes verse "tell me when you make it past your caspers (aka your ghosts, fears), so we can fly off to NASA" and he continues on saying she was his dream cheerleader and he was the class clown, it wasnt meant to be it just happened, as in no one wouldve predicted them two together but it just happened that way... i think this is a very powerful song especially "oh we couldnt bring the columns down yeah we couldnt destroy a single one" i know this relates to the samson and delilah story but i think its also talking about their barriers. she sings this line fiercely as if she was determined and a little bitter. i imagine samson and delilahs relationship was very controversial. he was most likely told not to be with her because she was promiscuous and would use him and ppl probably told him he was a fool in love. and delilah had her reputation to live up to, that of being a promiscuous woman who didnt really fall in love or care for others. they were against the odds im sure. but i also think this song is more like a hidden love song. that they really did love each other despite the odds and what htey had was precious, though destined to fall, just like romeo and juliet, helen and paris, and cleopatra and marc antony. she really did love him i believe. |
